Why is it, when you know you need to study, you just can't seem to focus! No matter what I do, where I go, how hard I try I can't study for this political science class! My final is on Friday and everytime I pick up the book, I zone out. I don't work, I have nothing else to do durring the day, but I seem to find things to fill my time, and it's not studying!
Funny thing is, when I have more classes to worry about, I seem to get more studying done!
Oh well, I'm also most done!
Blech!
I am so horrible keeping up with school, and I just started. I did an online math class this summer, and out of the 5 weeks the class was "in session", I looked in the book a total of about 4 days (the two days before the midterm, and the two days before the final) Guess that's why I got a C, lol!
John, thanks for the tips! I'll try some out this semsters.
I'm with you on the cleaning, I had to study yesterday and I decided that, now, I had to have a clean office. Funny how that works. I also like studying in the car, but the only time I can do it is in winter, I'll overheat my car with the A/C on!!!
I second the idea about going to a bookstore to study. I tried studying at the library, thinking it would be good because there are no distractions. However, the study room at my library is too quiet and I ended up fighting off sleep the whole time. So I tried going to Borders and studying in the cafe section. This usually worked well because I did not have the distractions of home, but there was enough background noise to keep me awake. And little diversions (coffee, a little people watching, browsing) were right there for the taking when I needed a break/refresher.
Plus, you can browse through the nursing books while there and then you feel like you're still doing something somewhat productive even while you're on break. Since you are having a hard time with political science, it might be helpful to browse through the politics section while there - maybe you will find a book that's more interesting to flip through and that might bring some more life to the subject for you.
Good luck - you can do it! I am a terrible procrastinator, but I graduate on Sunday so I'm living proof that it can be done!
Normal normal normal too!
My Dh was Just asking Why the house was messy... nuthin for dinner...and I wasnt in school! LOL LOL
I told him I needed a BREAK...and time w/ my boys in the summer!
I too, when under pressure finding myslef NEVER STOPPING... I think thats why I am so Blahhh this summer about ANYTHING getting done. I figured, why pressure myself when that will be my full time job once school begins!
Glad to see there are so many of us here! LOL

- One more thing.
- Between breaks -- I fly-fish like crazy (meaning road-trip to Yellowsone, or Green River, Utah). Your mileage may vary.
- So enjoy your breaks. I am currently doing 1-2 hours a day of studying for my next A&P course. Instructor was kind enough to give me a syllabus for next semester. Nice to be able to study without any pressure. At least for a few weeks.
