Hi, has anyone waited close to a year before their case was reviewed and decided on by the board of nursing?
I self reported back in Feb , and my case hasn't come up yet, I've talked to the investigator every month or 2 , it just seems like it's taking forever.
Im thankful my RN license is still active , I'm working at a dialysis center and I really like it
Wow! That's a long wait too. Surely you won't be required to repeat rehab since you have that many years clean and sober. I'm in Mississippi and so far I haven't found anyone in recovery in MS to see how strict they are. I'm really taking one day at a time. It gets really hard sometimes though because I think about my 11 y/o son and 17 y/o daughter .
I wish you luck too! We are all in this boat together

@gnurse2089 Hey there. I finally got a certified letter from the BON after 3 1/2 yrs!! I have a settlement conference in about a month (10/8). I am going to consult a lawyer because after this long I don't think its fair if my license gets suspended. I can deal with monitoring. Did your license get suspended? I have heard that when they contact you and your not in a monitoring program- they will most likely try to suspend your license. Thats so wrong! I have worked all this time so I pray I don't get suspended.

@FreakedRN How did your case turn out? Was your license suspended?

Oh man, that is a long wait. I am waiting to hear results of an investigation, as well. I had my license revoked in 2003, for non-compliance with AZBN CANDO program. I applied for re-issuance and they received my packet on 07-31-2017.
They sent one more request for info, which I returned in September. When the investigator called, he told me investigations were taking 11 months (sometimes more), however, their website states max is 270 days, total.
I have been on pins and needles. I have been clean and sober 12.5 years (02/18/2005), and I am really hoping that I will not be required to do any rehab. At this point, I do not believe it would be beneficial. I sent them documentation from my previous 1 year IOP and AA/NA meeting logs, etc.
I still attend AA/NA at least two times per week. I live in Texas now, and we do not have any nurse support groups in my area. I am aware that I will need to go back to AZ to complete the probation.
I also worry, once that is up, and I come back to Texas (which I love), I am unsure if I will have to do any sort of probation/program with Texas. I am hoping not, and that TX will take my AZ probation/stips completion into consideration.
I wish you the best of luck and if anyone has any insight to the questions I posed, please let me know.
Hang in there!
