NOT SURE WHY I GOT REPLY HERE
My new thread said WE had to do something about our shortage. The first theing I mentioned was the semantics played on here must be eliminated on this matter.
We are running out of instructors, now to me that would be the place to start.

You must be aware of the seriousness of what I am saying or we have lost all hope.
"It just seems like every nurse who quits is just a big cop-out."
Everything is not as it seems.
For those that quit, they have their reasons, and i doubt they call it a big cop-out. It was probably an extremely hard decision for some, and may not have been for others.
I, for one, will not ask why a nurse can't just fix their problems with being fed-up, since i'm not a nurse i have no right asking such. Even as a student, i know better than to think that a nurse who quits is copping out.
people who quit have often come to the realization that LIFE is more important than nursing....
some had their identities all tied up in nursing and realized it was not good...
some can't take the physical labor and stress anymore....
some can't take the abuse from management/admin and doctors and family members--as well as patients themselves.......
some just realize they are burnt out and are saving themselves from depression and heartache......
some want to fulfill other dreams while they have time on Earth to do so...
whatever their reasons, they are concerning and we should be paying attention...some we can improve...others not...however the clock continues to tick loudly......the shortage is only getting worse, not better.
