OK....the wait is killing me:uhoh3: So I thought I would start a thread to see just how many people are waiting like me. If you have heard anything like when we might hear something let us know.

You are right. I called my mom to see which school it is.. And it's Jefferson.

I have heard Jefferson gets special treatment :) Congrats !!! I guess Im the only Shelby person here

Right:chuckle. I've never heard that rumor. If that's the case I would have selected that one as #1. lol

The mailman finally came and I now have my letter. It's now official!!! I'm in!!!!! But I still wonder what took so long. Has anyone heard why we had to wait so long?

I agree that it took too long...I got in, but am going to have to call and decline.

Do you think that will kill my chances of ever getting into the program for a future semester?

I had a deadline to make other business decisions and had to go with a "known quantity" and could not keep putting people off. I was also accepted to UAB and would still have three pre-reqs to get into their BSN program.

Just two minutes ago got a call from Jeff State. I was admitted as a part timer and have

orientation on July 19th. LOL to the both of you!

:balloons:congrats to you:balloons::balloons: if you don't mind me asking did you apply to to both the full time or part time program? also, do you have any idea if just as many ppl apply to the part-time so maybe its a greater chance to get in if not as many are applying? i plan on applying to both programs, but i perfer the full-time especially since i already have a b.s.(2004) which includes all my pre-reqs. i recently came to the decision to go back for nursing which i was pursing before, but missed the deadline for this fall, so i hope to get in for spring '08. oh yeah, did you take both the reading & math compass test or just the reading? thanks for any info you can give me & congrats again!:balloons:

I only applied to the part time program. From what I hear, it is a bit easier to get into the part time program because not as many apply. I think they only accept 50 students per campus for the full time and its extremely competitive. If you don't already know, Jeff State works on a point system for admitting based on Math, the reading test and sciences.

As far as the compass tests go.......I only had to take the reading test and it was pretty easy. I got a 99 out of 99. Its a simple computer test where you read a few stories and answer some questions.

Good luck to you and if you have any other questions, let me know.

Awwww. I hate that you have to decline. I will say that its better to have all the pre reqs done before getting into any nursing program! Nursing school is very damanding from what my friends who started this summer are telling me. The keep saying enjoy your summer because your life over come Aug:uhoh3:

Best luck to you

I applied for both part time and full time and marked part time as my first choice. I spoke with the Shelby advisor today and was told that 180 points was the cut off for both full and part time. Also, the part time program only took 30 students. I'm glad to be one of the 30.

Just qurious as to why you chose the part time over the full time?

Congrats on getting in :balloons:

Where should I begin? Oh MONEY.

1. We have two children, 11 and 9 years old with another baby due in early January. 2. Mortgage

3. Car note

4. Health insurance

And the list can go on and on. As I said in an earlier post I did apply to both full time and part time to increase my chances on getting accepted. But, if I had gotten into the full time program we would have to make may life altering changes. We were willing to make these changes but only if we had to. My wife is very supportive as I make this change in professions.

I've got a question for you..........do you know what the schedule is for the first semester of part-time? I'm confused a bit on what the schedule says.........T, W, TH nights.....but some nights say web-supported...do we go to school those nights too? Three nights or two nights? I've got kids too and just trying to plan. I guess I'll find out Thursday if you don't know either.

I have the same questions. I can't wait until Thursday. There are so many plans to make.

KLB1230 have you taken all your general education courses? I still have PSY 200 and HUM. I'll have to work these classes in sometime in the future.
