Who's taken the teas v?

Nursing Students TEAS

And what did you think? I took it last week and feel like I was prepared for the Math and Reading portions by using the study guide but I really struggled with the Science portion. For me it was a lot of Chemistry and it's been a while since I've taken that course. I met the minimum requirements in each category for my program but it's the first year they're using the TEAS V (Last year they used the NET) so I'm not really sure what a competitive score is yet. Anyway I know there are different entrance tests and versions of the TEAS everyone is taking so I was just wondering how people felt about version V.

anyone retake TEAS V ? I would like to know if you get same set of questions.

I took the Teas V yesterday and just learned I got an 77.3 composite score. I'm pretty bummed about it, but we shall see what happens. I am taking the HESI tomorrow and brushing up on my science as that was the one i didn't do too well in. As for retakes, depending on the schools policy, the TEAS V can be retaken twice usually within a 1 or 2 year period. There are two different forms; form A and form B. From what I have read and heard, this test is quite a bit harder than the previous versions and also is used alittle bit different in as far as ranking scores. I think it is best to check with the school to find out exactly what they are looking for on the test.

from everything I've been hearing, that's a REALLY good score. I think it's better than average, isn't it?

I am hoping I do that well!

@flutterbye67 - I sure hope you're right. I've read so much about scores in the 80's and 90's and although at this point, that I'm not sure which version they were for. I haven't read much on here about scored on the 5th version of the test tho. On the report it says:

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 77.3%

ATI Academic

Preparedness Level:

Proficient

Mean - National: 62.0%

Mean - Program: 64.2%

Percentile Rank - National: 86

Percentile Rank - Program: 73

Kinda looks good. I guess I'm just upset because I was expecting to do better, although when I walked out, i had no idea how I did.

Are there any good online practice questions or help for free. I'm going to buy the book, but I couldn't find any websites that had free practice questions. I heard a few people mention there were some online...

I bought Kaplans nursing entrance exams and used that to prepare. I feel that it did prepare me however I didn't do so well on the sciences. I didn't study those sections because I had just completed A&P and felt pretty confident however you can see from my score that I didn't do so well. I don't think it was the book though because I didn't use it fully. Anyway, to your question, I didn't find any online resources that I feel were any help. In preparing fro the Hesi A2 after taking the Teas V, I used cliffnotes.com and sparknotes.com to go over subjects such as A&P and Biology. I did very well on the Hesi and I feel that using the book along with those websites was the reason. The problem with the books in relation to the test, isnt necessarily that it gives you the information that will be on the test, but rather the ability to take practice tests that I felt were more suited for Hesi than Teas. Personally, I would purchase the books available thru ATI that deal directly with the Teas. I didn't have the funds other wise I would have gone that route. I heard those study guides and practice tests are a more accurate picture of the Teas V. I wish I would have known that before... Good Luck!

(Hope my rambling answered your question...)

I made an 85 on the teas test last week. I'm hoping it is good enough so that I don't have to take it again. What does anyone think about this score?

i took the teas exam in august of this year. i made an 83 composite school. i called my nursing department and they said that anything above our minimum composite score (72) was good!

i studied for a few months (here and there). i purchased a book from amazon that was through the same company that administered our exam (asi i believe). the book really helped me even though i was very unsure about the science section while i was taking the exam.

for all of those who are planning to take the exam- a study manual is a must have!! the one that i ordered off amazon was about $33 dollars i believe. good luck! :nurse:

I'm taking the TEAS 5 in 2 days and have not studied yet. I'll be taking it for LA Allied RN School. Anyone have any tips, links, free down loadable reading material?

I took TEAS 4 in June for another school and studied for a week. My final score (taking it for the first time) was 80%. I still remember some of the material for part 4 and kept notes. I am willing to share/trade with anyone who has knowledge of Teas 5.

Hey guys, I just took my TEAS VERSION 5 like 5 days ago. I scored a 66%, my school needs a 60 or above to pass, but i still feel upset because all my friends got 75,77,78,79. The reading part is what got me down and the math timing was terrible i scored well in science and english. I want to apply to the nursing program but i dnt like my score. I am afraid they will put me on the side i am going to retake it in janurary any tips on reading???

futurenurse, did you get the TEAS 5 study guide? I just forked over $85 plus shipping for it, as I'm taking it in January....

Honestly, I feel the actual TEAS V was not as hard as people made it out to be. The practice tests and the ATI study manual (get from Amazon or eBay, NOT from ATI to save money) were extremely helpful to me. My composite score was in the 90's. The practice questions were indeed harder than the real ones on the test. Practice, practice, practice. I honestly feel like everything you need to know is in the manual. I would not take the TEAS without it.
