  1. Pugmom- I am a senior nursing student going into my final semester in January- I know which hospital I am going to, but the school has not released which unit I will on. I requested L&D. I am soo hopeful!!!!! How was your experience?
  2. Hey! Like you said, everyone is different. I unfortunatly am one of those people who has had to work part-time through out nursing school. I still do well in my BSN program, BUT I know that I would have done better if I had not been working. My schedule at work is set one month in advance. Depending on when I had clinicals and when tests were, sometimes I had to work the night before an exam. I work a 4 pm- 11 pm shift at a local hospital clinic. If you have to work, plan ahead. Look at when exams are. Give yourself enough study time. Don't over do it. If you start to not do well on tests or skills and you meet with the instructor, one of the first things they will ask is how much are you studying and how often do you work. It is very do-able, you just have to be smart about it. IF you plan ahead, stay on top of your school schedule with tests, assignments and clinicals- i'm sure you will manage just fine! Good Luck!
  3. Congrats to you on graduating! I can only imagine how excited you are to be done! Thank you so much for your reply, it was very helpful! What kind of nursing are you interested in doing?
  4. That is so awesome! I am a senior nursing student, about to graduate in May. I want to do L&D. Reading that post gave me goose bumps! Thank you for your inspiration!
  5. Hello All! I joined AllNurses when I started nursing school in January of 2011, and if I am honest, I sort of forgot about it. And of course I barely had time to do anything! Well I finally made it to the end and I graduate in May. I have heard multiple views on when people are going to start applying for jobs. Any suggestions! Thanks so much! -Sarah Austen
  6. i took the teas exam in august of this year. i made an 83 composite school. i called my nursing department and they said that anything above our minimum composite score (72) was good! i studied for a few months (here and there). i purchased a book from amazon that was through the same company that administered our exam (asi i believe). the book really helped me even though i was very unsure about the science section while i was taking the exam. for all of those who are planning to take the exam- a study manual is a must have!! the one that i ordered off amazon was about $33 dollars i believe. good luck!
