Hiya Jersey! (That reminds me of Coyote Ugly)
I should hopefully be getting my acceptance call at the end of the month.
I'm taking A&P 2, my last class needs for my ADN (besides the nursing courses of course) and starting on the gen eds for the BSN bridge program I plan on applying to. I've started on my shots, and have been slowly making a wishlist of items on Amazon.
I got a planner from Walmart for under $15, full size, from Blue Sky. It's academic so it runs July-June. I don't know if Condren does academic or calendar year, but I'm betting it's getting close to the time you can find academic planners (like at Walmart) on clearance.
Hey everyone!
I am anxiously waiting for my acceptance letter from a ADN program. Driving myself nuts checking the mailbox several times a day.
I too have a list on Amazon going. I just got my flu shot and 1st TB test done for the 2 step. 2nd TB test is next week. I have all my documents in order for all the other immunizations. I have a digital copy of my fundamentals text book but have been busy with this semester's classes and only read to chapter 6 over the summer. I am finishing graduation requirements this semester and am not currently taking any science/nursing related classes and I am bored. So ready to get the show on the road with nursing school.
I still need to take a CPR class. I have my scrub bottoms picked out but am waiting to get accepted before I purchase.
The waiting is the worst. It has been over 6 weeks since the end of my application period. I was told 6-8 weeks when I handed in my app. So hopefully any day now!!
Glad to know I am not the only one driving people nuts talking about it over and over.
When you have worked so hard to get to this point you just want validation that it was enough. That acceptance letter cannot come soon enough!
I am starting a nursing program in January to! I am pretty confident that I will be granted admission but I cannot wait to have the actual answer. I totally know what you mean. I am so anxious and excited to start and luckily, someone who just completed the program I am going to start, gave me all of the books that we need! I am getting the syllabus for the first semester and I'm going to try to basically know Fundamentals and Health Assessment before we start it. I'm crazy right?! Lol
Congrats everyone on getting in! CiaraLopez you are not crazy I plan on doing the same thing as soon as I know what books to buy!!!! I'm soooo jealous you don't have to pay for books!!! I should go up to the college and see if anyone is selling their books. I wish the school had a Facebook book sell/trade site.
I got my go ahead today! YAYAYAYAYAYAY. In case you wondered yes my pinterest board is scary for nursing. I have also mapped out my friends on facebook who are nurses and who is a nursing student cause I'm going to bug the mess out of them when I have questions.
I'm just picked out my stethoscope, pen light, shears, watch, ect. I use my phone for a planner, but will probably invest in one of those expensive academic planners. Ahh, I'm so nervous to start. They change the books every semester at my school with more up to date knowledge. Since I was an EMT a few years back I'm thankfully up to date on my vaccines except my flu shot. I plan to take that this December, when I'm out of school.
I have bugged everyone about nursing school, I've told everyone. Like a dang badge of honor. I'm also taking Microbiology this semester so it's chaos everywhere.
IM SO HAPPY FOR US!
I received my acceptance letter to my first choice school this week, yay! To prepare, all I am doing is finishing up the classes I have now (micro etc.), attending my nursing programs information session, filling out all paperwork (FBI/State checks, immunizations etc.), and then enjoying my 4 week winter break from mid-December to mid-January. I take classes all year round except for that mini break, so I am very excited for it!
Congrats everyone!
I start my ADN in January 2016 too!
I'm ridiculously excited about it. I just finished all of my health paperwork and CPR re-certification. I just want to get registered ASAP so I can start planning the first semester. I have my steth, lab coat, scrub bottoms, sneakers, watch, all that good stuff.
You should look up bullet journals! I've used one for the last year and I'm seriously obsessed.

Last week I received my acceptance letter and will begin a 2yr RN program in January!!!!! I'm so excited and anxious about going that I think I'm starting to bore my family and coworkers talking about it. So I decided to come here and bore you guys lol.
So who's starting this Spring and what are you doing to prepare yourself? Or are you just relaxing and enjoying the next couple of months?
I'm currently working as much overtime as I can for "just incase" money. I would love to start reading but my school has not put our book list up yet. Need to decide between a MacBook Pro vs. MacBook Air, and either a ridiculously expensive, but adorable, Erin Condren planner or a cheap boring one. As lame as it sounds I've been watching YouTube videos of how people organize their planners and binders for nursing school. I gotta do something to pass the time!
