Who's going to Anesthesia school?

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

We've had several threads from everyone saying they were accepted to various schools, but if everyone is willing let's do one big thread for everyone that will be starting anesthesia school this summer or fall. If you don't mind please include where you applied, the status from each school ( meaning didn't get an interview, interviewed and not accepted/made alternate/accepted), and the school you chose and why. Thanks, so much!

I applied to :

1) Medical College of Georgia- interviewed and made alternate

2) Samford (in Birmingham)- interviewed and accepted

3) University of Alabama at Birmingham- interviewed and accepted and will be going there this fall. I chose UAB because I loved the Director and all of their clinicals are in Birmingham, so I won't have to travel all over the state.

Start at Mt Marty College end of August :rotfl: (Sioux Falls, SD)

Applied to Truman, KUMC in KC, and Bryan

Still tryin to enjoy my summer before I get spanked :angryfire

I applied to the following:

1. UMDNJ -- offered interview. I declined due to licence issues in NJ (turnaround time).

2. Allegheny Valley Hospital in PA-- offered interview. Did not accept interview.

3. U of Pittsburgh-- interviewed and liked the school but put on alternate list.

4. Mayo-- was declined an interview.

5. Villanova in PA-- was told I would interview for a spot for 2006. I declined that offer.

6. Case Western-- interviewed. They raked me over the coals. I was sure I bombed and they didn't like me. Then, I got an acceptance letter!! I almost had a coronary over that. I was so unsettled by the rough interview I decided not to attend.

7. U at Buffalo-- interviewed, loved the interview and info session. I start in Aug 2005.

I'm nervous but in a good way. I can't wait to hit the books. Good luck to all of you out there in the same boat.

interviewed at Barry University in March and got accepted! Starting January 2007!

It was the only school I applied to because of reputation in Florida. Was considering Duke and others in N. Carolina.

if anyone else got in, please let me know!!!

Medical College of Georgia: Never heard a thing then when I finally called magically I got a letter from them and wasn't offered an interview...IRONIC

Georgetown University: Interviewed and accepted; declined offer

Raleigh School of Nurse: Interviewed, accepted; accepted offer

Best wishes to all those attending and applying to schools!

an old friend from work is finishing up the barry in may - she loves it. i also did my shadowing with a barry alum and i was very impressed. i was supposed to begin their program in january - but i got engaged and he couldn't relocate from NY to Miami. so i applied to columbia and that's where i'm going in may. otherwise i'd have started that program this past january. they have a great reputation in florida - (at the least, very well known and respected in the orlando area where i first learned of the program when i worked in the NICU there). they take 80+ students because they have a huge amount of clinical spots. good luck in your endeavors!

Hello! I was wondering if anybody has applied/attended or know someone who has applied/attended any CRNA programs in Florida, particularly Barry University or Wolford College (Formerly part of Florida Gulf Coast University).

Although I am just finishing with my BSN, I was thinking of relocating to MN. I work for Mayo Clinic and was thinking of attending their School of Health Sciences. The University of MN has a good program as well.

:balloons: Applied to CAMC School of Nurse Anesthesia in Charleston West Virginia Feb 2005. Made alternate for that year and given a seat in the May 2006 class. Only school I applied to , has good rep. I worked for CAMC as a nurse for 11 years. All clinicals will be within the medical centers three divisions. Anyone else going here?

Barry University January 2007!! :balloons:

Starting school at the U of Scranton in August 2006. I chose it because it has a good reputation, and is not a far commute from my house

hey ellarose,

im wondering if you were in my interview group. There was 6 of us and they were all great!...when did you interview??

Arkansas State, January 2007.

Arkansas State, January 2007.

applied to TCU, TWU, MUSC, Baylor, and MSU in Springfield, MO. Interviewed everywhere except Baylor, and accepted everywhere that I interviewed. Picked TCU, because I liked the directors when I interviewed with them. Fort Worth, is closer to home/family than I am currently, so that is a bonus!!! Then off to Cali for clinicals!! Good Luck to all!!!
