A few of us were commenting that we need to lose a significant amount of weight. Let's team up and cheer each other on to lose weight, exercise, and get healthy!! We can do it!! :pumpiron:

We can take it 5 or 10 pounds at a time so those of us with a lot to lose won't get discouraged. We can officially start April 1st so everyone can prepare and get their last binges out of the way. :roll

Everyone is welcome!! Let's take back control of our lives and get healthy!! Who is in?! :)

This is awesome! I don't have any pounds to lose but got pretty healthy taking up running. It's still a battle to get my runs in and need all the encouragement I can get!

Okay, so I want to lose about 10lbs too. I lost 13lbs back in Oct, but then lost my mind over the holidays and went back up a lil and then I got the flu recently and lost 6lbs, not the way you wanna lose weight. I was doing the "Fat Smash Diet". Dont know if anyone has heard of it, but it IS GREAT! Check out the diet..I'm up for the challenge as well. The website is Fatsmashforum, it is just like this forum, people to talk to and help out w/ the diet..If you have any questions ask me. I am bad at diets and this one was easy. I lost 13lbs in about 4-5 weeks and didn't even exercise..Some people that had high amount of weight to lose, lost about 12-13 lbs in the 1st 9 days. It's amazing. They use it on the Celebrity Fit Club on VH1...Look forward to starting w/ everyone...Good Luck! :monkeydance:

I'd love to lose about 40 lbs., but at 51, I'd be happy to lose 25 or so and KEEP it off; I don't think I'll ever be my high school weight again!! My BP's up and I just started meds and I'd love to get off of them in a very short time...

I'm in....

Of course not!! Everyone is welcome!! And I have over 100 to lose so you aren't alone!!

I'm joining in too. I would love to lose weight before I join the rigors of nursing school. I'm only in my 1st class now, so I have some time before that. I need to journal eating and emotions behind why I'm doing it. Need to schedule exercise every morning; which I do now only 2 day a week. I can up that to 6 days, since I just do 45 minutes of walking and some light weights on arms and legs. I had 3 donuts today and my DD is turning 3 on Sunday, so I will have my cake and eat it too. I'll make sure to throw away the stuff that's not good for you. Definately get rid of the Hydrogenated oil snacks. That stuff doesn't leave your body once it's in. That's the first thing to go.

April 1st, here I come.

just stopped smoking

That's also on my list with my BP issues....how'd you do it?

I'm so in and sooo ready to get this 75lbs off. How is everyone going to do it? Weight watchers, low carb, low cal? Maybe we can share some pointers!

Me too!! I need to lose about 75 pounds. The weight just seemed to keep adding on every year. I can't say it is baby weight anymore because my son just turned 14. I have diabetes and high cholesterol and my schedule has been so crazy that I have not had time to exercise, but I am going to make time and I will be committed to exercising at least 4 days a week. I will start 4/1/07 with you all. Wish me luck. I hate being fat. I think that having you all doing this with me will be a big help.

Batman...........ty, I have got to do something, I am tired of carrying this extra weight.

wdwpixie.....I took welbutrin, it is the most wonderful medication (I think), I tried the patches, but after about three days broke out in huge water blisters. Since I stopped smoking and started on some fantastic vitamins, I have been able to stop taking my bp meds, I keep an eye on it at work, and so far is normal.....

Hi all! I just wanted say hi and congratulate everyone on wanting to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle!! (I emphasize living a healthy lifestyle!!). I have been consistantly weight training, eating healthy, and aerobically exercising for several years now, and I have never felt better or had more energy in my life!! I plan to continue on this path not just through nursing school (I start in the fall! ), but throughout my entire life!

I just want to throw my two cents in and suggest that a primary goal be health and fitness, rather than to just "lose weight". If you emphasize health and fitness, you'll create a healthier body that can support your day-to-day activities, as well as the rigor of nursing school! I admit that I am not at my "ideal" body shape or "weight", but it doesn't matter because I am strong and healthy. I measure my successes by how I look and feel, rather then just a number on the scale. Some good advice to remember is that you can't change everything in one day: try to do a little better each day and you'll be amazed at the results. If you make the journey, then the results will come! If I can do it, anyone can!!!!

If ANYONE has ANY questions please feel free to ask or PM me! I am more than willing to help in this area because it has had such an impact on my own life! Good luck to everyone in their fitness goals, and if you haven't started school already, good luck in that as well!
