I work full time (4, 10 hour days) some with call and am enrolled as a full time student as well. When clinicals start, I will drop to part time due to the time constraint of clinical hours to work hours (I just cant fit them all in, otherwise I would). I also have two small children, livestock, and other small farm related projects to do. Spare time is at a premium but I know at the end of my program I'll have a much more stable job and the hours will be much better. I'm doing this while my kids are young because I want to be at the ball games, at the dance recitals, etc. It's truly a time management dance but I have perfected this while doing my BSN (under similar conditions).

I currently work full time with a part time program. I'm going to feel it out this semester a bit more than the last though, because it's my first clinical semester. I will most likely drop to registry and work 24 hours a week.
I just remembered you worked Monday through Friday, that's a different ball game as many have mentioned here. Most on my friends that had M-F jobs either dropped down to 3 days a week if they could, or switched jobs completely to accommodate the clinical portion of their education.

So the overall formula:
- program full time => you go part time. At least at some point.
- program part time => you can go full time. Till some point.
- either way, it is better to work nights, weekends or both and free weekdays for clinicals.

I am currently in a full time FNP program, and just completed by first semester which was completely online. I have been working full time (3 12's a week) and will continue to do so next semester as well. It will be all online with the exception of Advanced Pharmacology which will entail class once a week in the evening. When my clinicals start during the summer, I will be dropping part time to 2 12's a week. Fitting in all of my clinical hours will be impossible otherwise!
