Who taking A&P this summer?

Who is taking A&P1 with me this summer? I'm excited but scared at the same time because it's a lot to know in such a short time!

Barron's E-Z Anatomy and Physiology. GET IT!!!!! The book followed the same chapters as my text (pretty much) read each chapter, then go to your textbook. Barron's makes it easier to digest the materials in your text.

YES! I got Barron E Z A&P also and every time I read a chapter out of my textbook I read a chapter out of Barrons. It really helps condense and explain everything I just read. And it does follow the chapters of the book which is very helpful. I also got Netters atlas and Kaplans flash cards but I honestly haven't used them yet. I printed out the skeletal system and the muscular system and keep them both in my pocket. I review them throughout the day, very helpful.

My textbook is Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology by Martini 9th edition. Can it also be used with the Baron E-Z?

Should I just google the Skeletal System and Muscular System and then print it out or is there a specific one required?

Also I purchased the Application Manual, atlas of the human body, and a lecture guide along side the textbook. Do I have to study all these too or focus on just the textbook, baron E-Z, and the print out?

Looks like I am going to be doing a lot of studying?

Well, first things first. You want to contact you professor and ask for a copy of the syllabus. When I asked my teacher he said we'd be covering the first 12 chapters. Another student on AN said the summer professor skipped all the chemistry and cell chapters. So you want to contact yours to be sure.

Secondly, I'm sure your A&P text book will work fine with Barron's. And yep, googling is what I did. The book separates the skeleton into axial skeleton and appendicular skeleton so make sure you google that too!

I would focus on whatever you syllabus has you focusing on. Yes it's a lot of studying but we'll be super prepared for A&P this summer and hopefully making an "A"!! Good luck!!

Thanks. I just purchased the book on amazon and the reviews are great. I was told we will be covering the first 12 chapters.

I am taking AP2 this summer and studying for the HESI exam

You should definitely memorize the origins/insertions - I just took my muscle practical last night and it was horrific. I wish I had started studying a lot sooner. I passed with an 82 - class average was a 62.

what is everyone doing to prepare?

So far I've memorized the basic bones of the skeleton (including bones in skull) but to bony "landmarks" I've also memorized some muscles but no origins or anything like that. I've also read through chapter 3 and trying to make sure I'm able to answer the chapter tests in the book. We're covering chapters 1-12 in A&P I so I'm trying to get a head start so it's not so foreign to me.

I've just finished my last class for spring semester so my head is in my a&p book right now and I had a friend who took the same professor this spring so she gave me his notes that he wrote for me to get a head start. He's a tough one
