I am 47, have NO experience in helah-care, but I am thinking ofgoing into nursing school, with the ultimate goal to ne a Nurse Practitioner.

By the time I finish all the pre-requisites (while working), a may be 50 by the time I can apply to schools.

Anyone else come to the party this late in life with no healthcare background?

I need reassurance!

I am 39 and am about to finish my first semester of pre-req's! Luckily, I have most of the gen ed stuff from before but never took science classes. I have over 78 credit hours...no Associate's Degree so feels like I am starting over. Getting my CNA this winter and hope to enter into a LPN program and then bridge to a RN program. I have 4 kids (my oldest just started college herself) and my marriage is pretty unstable. It is important for me to get into the workforce ASAP so I know I can take care of myself and my kiddos. These stories are all very inspiring!

My sister had a classmate who was 68 by the time they graduated their ADN. She retired from her previous career and finally had the time to fullfill her life long dream. High marks in all her classes and clinicals.

Age really is only a number. Definitely do-able! :)

I know that this post is from years ago, but I think it still applies. You are never to old.

I was 37 when I entered LPN school, graduated at 38. Now, I'm 42 and I'm in the LPN to RN bridge class. I'll graduate (Lord willing) a month after I turn 44.
