It depends. It is a public school, charter, or private school? I'm with a charter school and my interview was with our director of operations, who is not medical personal. However, when I was was hired as a sub for a public school district previously, I interviewed with the city's public health nurse, who hires and oversees all the school nurses in that district.
Walked into a team interview !!!
I about :poop: my self!!! Principal of MS, HS (we were combined at the time), HS and MS guidance, SpEd director, a student, the superintendant......
Many years later here I am...we interviwed for a position last year and it was a team teacher, the principal and myself.
I walked into a team interview. The school nurse supervisor, a public health nurse and the director of nursing. This was at the health department, and the health department delegates what schools you have and what district you will be working in. So, I guess it all depends on if your school contracts out or not for nurses.
I am just researching the questions here on the forum & what ever else I can find on the internet. Any other tips would be helpful.....
How are you preparing sunshine4me?
Xanax ? hahaha, just kidding!!! No, I'm pretty much doing the same thing as you. Researching allnurses.com and the Internet hoping to find a few valuable nuggets. Brushing up on first aid and school nurse responsibilities. And prayer ?...if it is Gods will then doors will open and things will fall into place. If its not then there is probably something better waiting for me . I am a firm believer in that! I wish you the best!
