Who else is waiting for an Acceptance letter?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Who else has applied to their program and is stressing out? Lets all share and while we wait!

I applied in FEBRUARY! And wont find out if I got accepted or not until the middle of May, so I'm pretty much losing my mind... I'm trying very hard not to bother the nursing director, I've already bothered her twice... All she will tell me is "Your scores look competitive." That's not enough for me! But I'm trying to be patient, and also not to get my hopes too high. I'm finding it difficult to concentrate on my current classes, I'm so distracted stressing about my letter! My heart skips every time I check the mailbox, even though I know it wont be there for another month!

So share your story of waiting, whether your waiting now, or have already been accepted, or if you have any tips and advice on how to NOT stress about it!

I applied in mid October 2014 and received my acceptance email on Friday!!

Those accepted... What was your Hesi score?? If you don't mind me asking.

I got in  !!

Received my awesome generic rejection letter the first week of June and by pure surprise got a phone call this morning at like 9:30 from the Nursing Director! My school has a waitlist which they failed to mention before nor do they say anything in the rejection letter other then the standard "apply again next year". When she told me I had been accepted; I muted the phone and squealed so loud half of Walmart turned around to see what was going on LOL. Congratulations everyone!

Congrats GSPmom! That's hilarious about Walmart... I'd imagine trying to keep the enthusiasm down to a minimum to be quite difficult lol

I'm currently waiting for mine. I applied to two schools. The one I have my heart set on which I doubt I'll get in. From what I've read on here about the school, it's difficult to get into. I applied in March, but I had to complete 3 courses before I could get my application reviewed. I just finished the classes mid-May, so they've only had all of my transcripts for a few weeks which feels like months already.

I check the mail several times during the day and am disappointed to see junk mail. Even though I know it'll be awhile. They have rolling admissions, so I have no idea how long it'll take.

There really aren't many ADN programs around and managed to find another one close by. So I just applied to that one two weeks ago. I just got my last transcript into them. Again, as it's rolling admissions, I have no idea how long it'll take for a determination.

So I'm spending time trying to figure out where to go from here once I likely receive my rejection letters. If I can't get into ADN programs, it's unlikely I could get into a BSN program (there are two around here). I considered LPN, but I think the cost of LPN, LPN to RN, and then RN to BSN might be too costly. There's only one regionally accredited LPN program that I'd have to wait until Fall 2016 for. Having done my research, going to the regionally accredited LPN school appears to be the only way I can continue on in bridge programs (they all state regionally accredited).

I'm otherwise considering an AAS in Radiologic Technology and specialize in DMS. A four year program that I couldn't get into until next summer at the earliest. My husband isn't keen on being in school and out of work for four years, but if I can't get into any of the nursing programs, I have to find something else I'd be happy with. He's mulling it over and isn't even bothering with it too much until we know about NS. Otherwise the high temperatures and being 7 months pregnant is keeping me knackered, so I'm getting tons of rest, which is helping the time pass!

Haven't received the actual letter yet, but my program changed from liberal arts transfer science to LPN to RN day program. After waiting from November it's almost finally overí ½í±í ½í±

Summer is the worst to be at the end of a pregnancy. My kids were summer pregnancies so I feel your pain. I swear by July I lived in the pool just floating around. It really helped with my joint pains.

Sounds like you have a solid backup plan in mind. Hopefully, you'll hear something soon from your two applications. The rolling admissions sounds like a real PITA.

At my school, the LPN bridge applicants and regular RN applicants are fighting for the same few seats that only open up once a year. I considered the LPN to RN bridge option too. I would ask around if the school you picked for the RN program gives priority to current LPNs. Example around here, College "A" gives higher points or favors a LPN To RN applicant more vs. those students applying straight for the RN program. Whereas, College "B" takes no preference and only cares about GPAs and TEAS scores so a LPN bridge applicant might get rejected and have to wait for another open session to apply after a GPA or TEAS score boost. To me, it just wasn't gonna be worth the money, effort and time of getting my LPN if it gave me the same chances as a non LPN to be accepted.

Best luck on getting good news soon!!

I'm actually due a week and a half after my daughter's second birthday. This summer is much more brutal than the summer I was pregnant with her. I'm useless these days! I actually purposefully spent an hour and a half in Walmart today just to keep cool lol

I actually found out today that I've been accepted to my second choice! I'm still waiting to hear from my first choice, but even if that doesn't work out, my second choice is still a good school and am glad to have a spot somewhere. It's such a weight off my shoulders! Though I have to take some placement exams that I need to start focusing on as I don't know how that'll change things, if they do.

I've been waitlisted at one school and I'm just waiting to hear back from one more school. I'm praying that I get into this school otherwise I would have to reapply for the Spring.

I only applied to one school, which I am praying and praying and praying that I get accepted, if not, then I'll just apply to the other school for Spring, because I'm pretty much guaranteed to get in there. Oh and I won't find out whether I've been accepted or rejected until Mid-July!

I just got my letter. I start this August!!! I'm sooo excited. All glory to God! He got me here. ❤️❤️❤️
