White scrubs...you have got to be kidding!

Nurses Men

Published

The hospital I work for is considering a dress-code for all staff. RN's and LPN's - White Scrubs / CNA's and Techs - Navy Blue. This is not even funny!:banghead: White scrubs are IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean and I think that its demeaning to say the least. I am all for uniforms so patients and whoever else can identify us, but come on.....get real! Wearing all white is a step-back into the Florence Nightengale era with a lantern and a rose. Either the patient will think I am an old fashioned nurse or I am working at the state hospital disturbed ward.

Help us out lord!

Alot of places are implementing, majority are hospitals. The nurses at my LTC can where any color scrubs but they must have a white lab coat, or any bottoms and a white scrub tob. No one else is allowed a white scrub top unless its covered by a colored lab coat.

white scrubs, I don't like. usually, you can see the ladies undergarments with the white scrubs. It can be good or bad. :D

Wear beige/flesh colored undergarments with white. No more panty outline!

It's not that bad. I did an externship at hospital where nurses were required to where white and it wasn't that bad. Plus, you're not a female who has to worry about getting your pant stained. It's just my opinion.

Yeah not a fan of whites, but agree it is helpful having uniformity among professional organizations. You go to your doctor and he is wearing a coat with a stethoscope (usually), the dentist is wearing his mask and coat, the garbage man wears his, and even the folks at Mickie D's have their own. After being with my grandfather in the hospital, I now realize how important it is to recognize who is on the staff. I had no clue where the RN, NA, housekeeping, or maintenance crews were because they all wore the same thing and they all had tiny badges.
