Hi Everyone,
I have officially started my job hunting for 3 months and yes..job market is tough especially for a new grad RN like me who doesn't have experience as a CNA or EMT.
I feel like I have so much passion for becoming a nurse and did pretty well at school and clinical rotation..still can't find a job.......
I have tried the states like NC, MD, VA, upstate NY, Austin and Houston area in TX, Washington DC...got like three interviews but the ladies who interviewed me told me that I was competing with more than 200 other applicants...and even though I thought I did fine on the phone interviews I didn't get the jobs.
I don't mind relocating anywhere in the United States and I can work in any units. Could anyone please give me a direction and advice on which states/cities/ hospitals are easier for me to get a RN job?
Thank you so much ! I really appreciate any comments !

North Dakota seems to want nurses bad, but housing may be a challenge at times. There are a lot of other threads on this as well. And the general consensus is ND.

Try USAJOBS.gov, under keywords, type in "new graduate" with quotes. Search through the results and pick your opportunity! Also, if you just search for "registered nurse", again with quotes, you may find opportunities that will be open to nurses with no experience.
I will be doing so myself after graduation, as well as checking into new grad nurse residency programs.
Good luck!

Try st. Joseph in Bryan, Texas. About an he and a half from Houston, Texas and from my understanding st. Joes is pretty competitive in pay with other facility in major cities. Also a new hospital is set to open August 2013 in College Station, Texas Scott and White I do not know what their pay is for RN but that might be a place to check out. Good luck.

Gulf Coast Areas after all the hurricane displacements, (except FL), but housing is a nightmare. I bought my condo before it was built
