Ok, I know this thread is a few weeks old, but I just got a new pair of Croc's, and I absolutely love them. They now make a pair called the "Specialist" that you can get online that doesn't have the holes all over them, so it is perfect for the healthcare industry. I put an extra heal insert in them, because my heals hurt alot. Now, I can walk in them for 8 hours straight, and not get ANY foot pain at all. And to disinfect them after working (I work with a lot of C-diff patients), I can just spray them down with bleach and water, as it doesn't hurt the material. These are the best work shoes I have tried, and because my feet hurt so much, I went through 4 different pairs of shoes in an 8-week period, just trying to find a pair worked to keep my feet comfortable. And they are not expensive at all. Ok, that's my 2-cents worth on shoes.
Best I have found is New Balance 926 walking shoes. Only ones that seem to last and support my 200 pound body without my back hurting. They come in wide sizes for us guys (and gals) with big feet.
