Med/surg and 12 hr.

I work on a LDRP unit. We do 12s. I like it because its good for continuity of care, and I think especially for laboring mommas, this is important.

dislike how sore and tired I am at the end of my shift. But I do 2 a week, with an occasional 3rd. I am part time.

I currently work three 12's a week, 7p-7a, they schedule me totally sporadically with no sense of normal. Sometimes 3 back to back, sometimes all spread out. My previous job was 16 hour shifts, that was horrible. My preference would be to work FOUR 8 hour shifts a week, 3-11pm. That doesn't seem likely in the hospital. 8 hour shifts fly by, 12's are kinda long. 16's are unbearable.

I prefer 8s, but will work the occasional 12. Right now I need to work days but my heart prefers 1500-2300. Acute psych.

I find my 4 10s to be perfect. And it's all weekdays in the OR.

I work 8s. 3-11 4 or 5 days a week. I've never worked 12s. I do like the idea of only having to work 3 days a week, but don't know if I could stand to work for 12 hrs. Right now, I am breastfeeding, so I wouldn't want 12s since I don't want to be away from my baby for that many hours, especially because getting in pumping time can be hard. But once she is weaned, I might look for something with 12s so I can be home with my kids more days of the week.

in the perfect world i would love my 8hr. or 12hr. shifts, however who has that luxury? :uhoh21:
