Which institute is better to get a bachelors of Nursing degree?

Published

Hi, I have been stressing so much lately that I feel like I'm going to wake up completely bald any day now. I've currently been accepted into Humber and Seneca as well as Constega. George Brown and Centennial however are taking their sweet time. My dad has been down my back about choosing a school, however George brown was my number one option. If not, Humber but I've heard terrible! TERRIBLE! things about humber when it comes to Nursing. People have told me that they fail you on purpose, the professors don't care at all, they try to take every penny from you etc. And I don't want to go to a school were I'm going to be stressed about that. I wouldn't be able to handle it.

So if you've gone to Humber, what do you think about it? Did you like the Nursing program? How were the teachers? Do they really fail you on purpose? Would Seneca be a better option?

PLEASE! Whatever you can tell me, I'd be so greatful.

Note: Humber was my second option because it's literally 10 mins away and seneca is two hours away. Also, do you know when George Brown starts sending acceptances? Because I've called and all they say is it's under review.

I also applied to the George Brown BScN program for this September, and they STILL haven't answered me  (even though I think I do have a high enough average to get in). I was also accepted to Humber for Bachelor of Nursing. I actually heard good things about Humber, quite the opposite from what you heard actually. I went to their open house and they seemed great (although I know that this does not actually reveal how they really are). The experience at Humber probably differs from person to person. I have a friend that goes to Humber (RPN program though), and she really likes it and is doing well.

No nursing school can be much better than the next, since they all have to meet the same standards in Canada. They are different from each other, but not really better. Check out other threads on this site, a lot of people have different things to say about these schools.

Wjustine! I know right! Honestly, I have a high average as well (thankfully) and I am a little bewildered that they would take so long. Well I'm glad not everybody has bad things to say about Humber. Yeah, I saw that thread, made an account because of that. Hopefully we hear back soon. I just need to know whether I'm accepted or rejected.

update: I JUST got my acceptance to GB College for the BScN program. A little late huh? LOL :woot: All other schools I applied for sent my acceptances like 3-4 months ago. Not going to go to GB though, since I've already chosen Mohawk

All programs have to ensure graduates are prepared to meet the entry to practice competencies, so regardless of students' personal experiences, most programs will be very similar.

You do have to write the national exam after graduation (CNRE), though, so here is a link for the average pass rate (broken down by school). In my opinion, this is a good reflection of how well a school prepares it's graduates.
