Which Hospitals Use Travelers in Honolulu, Hawaii?

I'm interested in traveling to Hawaii on a travel assignment at some point in my career, but I am interested in working in Honolulu only. My current agency only staffs travelers at hospitals in Maui and in Hilo, so it definitely looks like I'll be switching agencies just for this venture.

If you have worked an assignment in Honolulu, which hospital and which agency facilitated that?

Thanks for all replies!

My friend is with Emerald and is in Honolulu right now. They are a bit smaller, and offer competitive pay, and I regret not working with them (I'm staff now at one of my former assignments, too good an offer to pass up). There were quite a few with that company in SF and they were all very satisfied.

AMN also staffs Honolulu. I had a recruiter there who until SF gave me surprisingly VERY competitive rates; and when I showed her what OTHER people were getting paid in SF she IMMEDIATELY said if I extended she'd match the other rate. She was no BS and I loved working with her.

If you would like some names let me know and I'll PM you.

Emerald is not small. They are among the top 20 largest agencies in the country and I think they are in the top 10. Their pay is decent with an extra shift bonus in lieu of good overtime rates.

I am currently with AMN, this is who told me they don't have assignments in Honolulu (not at the time, but as in saying they don't even have corporate contracts there). So hmm, I am confused, especially given that AMN subsidiaries have access to the same job database.

I did an assignment with Travel Nurse Across America at Kapi'olani Womens in Honolulu. They also get contracts at Queens in Honolulu as well. I have been with TNAA for 3 years now and really like them. Good luck :)

They just might not have something available at the moment. But I know they have had those positions before.

Personally, I'd rather go to Maui.

Evidently it is almost impossible to get housing in Maui. There was someone on this forum back in Feb that was having an awful time finding short term housing there. They do more 6mos or longer leases. I think Honolulu might be easier.

Yes, housing is the main reason I'd rather do Honolulu than Maui for an assignment. I've been to Honolulu before and I would enjoy being there 3 months. Maui would probably be best on vacation for me ... to start anyway.
