Which would you choose -

Published

3 scenarios - Which one do you think would be worse?

1) State surveyors coming in the building unannounced for a week to investigate a 6 month old complaint - and while they are there they check out anyone even remotely similar to the complaint they have

2) A new corporation buying your facility and everyone being flooded with and asked tons of questions by, nurse consultants, dietitians, people moving equipment and supplies in and out, corporate "suits" who no one knows exactly who or what they are or what they do and even a brand new Administrator - oh, and as an added bonus everyone gets to redo all of your paperwork and switch over to a different insurance company and also have meetings to discuss new corporate policies all while trying to take care of your residents

3) Having your facility change over from 12 hour shifts to 8 hours with you being on the new evening shift and having to work with a lot of new staff from other shifts/rotations that you have not worked with and/or do not know as well as those new people hired to replace those who quit rather than change shifts - Plus you have new duties and a different med pass as well as a new work schedule that is now not set up to where you have the same days off each schedule or even each month or week.

Tough choice as each of these is a major deal

Now think about them all happening AT THE SAME TIME!

Yes, that's right - they all 3 happened to us last week!

A new corp bought us out and they had us to start 8 hour shifts over our previous 12's from the first day they officially took over - 8's and 12's both have advantages and disadvantages and I have worked both and I have enough seniority to have any of the 3 shifts - I prefer evenings and chose that one - Just didn't think about the new people!

And then DHS shows up the second day of the maddness!

What a week!

Wow...I think you win the boobie prize.

My empathy

Wouldn't be Brookdale that bought your facility, would it?

Wouldn't be Brookdale that bought your facility, would it?

I don't believe so -They said what the name was but I can't remember off hand - Will know for sure when they pay us for the first time Tuesday - My feelings are I take care of my residents regardless of which corp it is and that one corp is the same as the next pretty much as long as the paychecks don't bounce :D

But I think they are out of Missouri
