Published

Hi Fellow Nurses! I have upcoming job interview for New York Presbyterian Hospital and NYC Health and Hospital/Bellevue. I would like to know which one offers better pay and benefits. Thank you!

Specializes in Medical Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant.

Hi,

Just curious if you had an interview with NYP yet. If you did, could you please share your experience? I have an interview with NYP-Columbia this week and just want to prepare myself ? thank you much!

Specializes in NICU.

I would be more concerned with working conditions, then NYP is hands down slightly better than Bellevue.Check out NYU as the sister hospital of Bellevue. It also depends what are you are interested in.

Hello! Can you shed some light on the working conditions & experiences @ Bellevue? I’m currently considering taking a position there & trying to figure out if it’s worth moving back home to NYC for. Thanks ?

Hello! I got accepted at Bellevue's Neuro ICU and started my orientation 2 months ago. Orientation in critical care is long and tough, they will also cross train you to MICU, SICU,CCU and CV PACU. They want to make sure that you're comfortable before they let you work on your own. I'm still in orientation now and will be off orientation by last week of April (hopefully I'm comfortable in Neuro ICU at that time). Staffing is still a problem (not only in Bellevue), but recently they hired many RNs to solve the staffing problem. When it comes to salary, private hospitals pay more, but if you're looking for a good retirement benefits and stability then Bellevue and other HHC facilities is the place.

Oh wow! Congratulations! ? Thank you for responding too! I agree, the benefits with HHC are wonderful. The retirement, medical and union packages are pretty comprehensive. I applied to Bellevue but haven’t heard back from anyone as of yet. However, I’ve already moved back home here in NYC & started as a nurse with HHC, specifically under Correctional Health Services on Rikers Island. It is a bit of a hike for me to get to Rikers, but I know the job stability is good. I also had an interview at Metropolitan hospital for their new express care clinic around the time I interviewed for Rikers, so I’m hoping they’ll eventually call me to start because that’s a more ideal work location for me commute to. Anyway, I wish you all the best at Bellevue, the neuro ICU sounds so exciting! ?

Hi there! I am an experienced LPN currently looking to work in NY HEALTH PLUS HOSPITALS, preferably Bellevue or Elmhurst hospital. They post lots of open positions on their website and I literally applied all the open positions available with no outcome. Any suggestions? I’m also currently enrolled in RN to BSN program.

Hello there I am RN currently in search of job. I applied all RN POSITIONS AVAILABLE ON THEIR WEBSITE WITH NO RESPONSE. How did u apply? It’s so hard to get in touch with their nurse recruiter. Help plz

Specializes in Cardiovascular ICU.

In response to the comment made about having applied to all RN positions available on their website with no response... my advice is to KEEP APPLYING. Sign up on indeed to get emails when new job posts have been listed and apply stat. That’s what I did. Sometimes You’re gonna need to apply to multiple positions (aim for the recent more newer ones) before you get an interview. Don’t give up. This last time I applied to all the critical care openings and got a call back a week later for cardiac ICU. Good luck!
