Where Shall I Start????????

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

hello all,

well just wanted to know where should i start again....i took my first attempt at nclex on july 15, 08 and about a month later got the results that i failed...how devasting especially when my family had faith in me and knew i would do good...when i got my results i thought i really let my family down...so i took it day my day and encouraged myself to hit the books again...everybody keeps telling me just study as if you didn't ever take the nclex...n i have been trying to sit down and study but with being 4 1/2 months pregnant working full time i barely have energy and is less motivated i try to look at it as its something i have to do but i just feel like i have no time...please help and i do not want to let my family down again....and right now with the economic crisis im really struggling..its depressing working paycheck to paycheck just to pay bills and live a decent life and what my job is paying me now is not gonna help me through life...i have the passion to make good money and give care to people who need good nursing care but i have to motivate myself to get this license....advice:heartbeat

Correct in studying as if you haven't taken the exam before, maybe consider Suzanne's plan (all info can be found in the stickies) practice questions and understand the rationale

hey i too can feel your pain of failing nclex exam because am also in your same situation with my family's hope around me. but one day or another we have to make it,right.so my best advice is just start slowly, start revising, feel confident that u are gonna make it, take proper food, get some relaxation, think about ur future once u pass exam, gain your inborn strength, and start studying. for revision may be u can use saunders fourth edition and try to do as much questions, try to do alternate format questions like SATA, concentrate on ur pharmacology and infection control, prioritization. hey dont worry, almost all of the nurses have some stories like this,so control ur mind and do it, wish u all the best.

We request that you do not use text messaging abbreviations here to make it easier for others to follow as well. Best to use the same grammar that you will use when you chart in a patient's record and it also makes it easier for foreign nurses to follow.

Thank you in advance.

i feel your pain...it's tough if everybody expects more than you can deliver...and it's tougher to see the faces of disappointment right in front of your eyes...i've been through that...but i'm slowly picking up the pieces, and getting all the encouragement especially from the same people whom i disappointed, and from the people who also went through the same thing...so, cheer up sister...it's time to move on.
