I put mine around my neck. I have a Littman Master Cardiology, and it's heavy, but it's also almost $200, so I refuse to put it down where it can be snatched by someone else.
I agree. I also have a cardiology Littman. My $40 Littman grew legs and walked away when I put it down.
I refuse to let this one leave my neck while I'm working. You will get used to it around your neck. :chuckle

Yeah, there was no adjustment period for me, and it's been there for years. :)
Maybe if you buy a fabric stethoscope cover it won't feel so awkward. I've seen a lot on http://www.smartscrubs.com and they even make them to match scrub tops.. I don't know where else you would put it, unless you hung it around a belt loop of a nursing belt pack..
I hate wearing mine around my neck also. Heavy, plus it irritates the skin on my neck.
I bought one of those belt clip things you can hang your stethescope on, which is still a little awkward.
Haven't found the perfect solution yet. Maybe I should invent something, get rich, and retire early.
I keep mine in my pants pocket, as I have scrubs with TONS of pockets, and the pants have a pocket down on the side of the pants...I can't wear it around my neck because it's aggravating and it rubs my neck, and I have a thing about shirts with collars! LOL :chuckle
The tubing seems to be okay...but I didn't know they make belt clips for them...that would sure free up my pocket!! I'll be on the lookout for that!

I got mine at a scrub shop, and have seen them in other uniform-type places. Only cost a few bucks. I should probably use mine more often and try to get used to it.

Ok I'm a second year nursing student in my BSN, in clinical i don't know where to put my stethescope. i want it on my all the time to keep it handy I hate the way it feels around my neck, and it always seems to get in the way there. I tried having it in my pants side pocket but it seems to me that that may not be the best thing for my littman. with all the tubing bent.
SO what does every one do with theirs to carry them around? is there some system available?
thanx SR
