I usually get my 30 ce's (required to renew in CA) during classes provided by my unit and hospital, but this year was different and I couldn't go to a lot of classes because I did a lot of travelling to see my sick dad throughout the year. In 2003, I took plenty of classes but those certificates are long lost!
It's time to stop procrastinating. My license is due for renewal in May and I need about 20 more units.
I like www.andersonCE.com but I want to try something new.
So, does anyone have a favorite place they go on the www to get their ceu's (especially for critical care)?

hey begalli,
i've used http://www.westernschools.com for years. but there are limitations. their courses are accredited only in the following states by the American Nurse's Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).
Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas, West Virginia, Wyoming, Virgin Islands.
but this is an old pamphlet i have. their toll free number is 1-800-618-1670.
their prices are extremely competitive- i've gotten 30 ceu's for $30.
their customer service email is [email protected].
you should really give them a buzz to see if your state is now eligible.
also they send you a list of all their courses, many including critical care. once you pay them, they send you the book to read with the test to be filled out at the end of each chapter (they provide you with an answer sheet) then you just send it back to them, so you can do this from the comfort of your own home.
good luck.

do a google search for ceu, free... there are a lot of sites that have them... they are only 1 - 3 ceu's each but they only take a little time.. I can do 2-3 an evening while I am doing triage calls.

Medscape - all for free!
Thanks all! I'm gonna check it all out.
(I go to medscape all the time. I didn't realize their ce's were free!)
....on my way to look around.
