Hi Everybody,I have to write a research paper for school and the topic I have chosen is on the care of autistic children throughout the spectrum of nursing but mainly in the ED or emergency situations. I am wondering if anyone could refer me to any websites(journals or text) that have information on how people with mental health issues are cared for in todays health system. My main point that I am looking to convey throughout the paper is how many nurses these days are not educated on how to care for patients with complex mental health issues. Thanks for any insight,Tristan.

Dosen't your school library subscribe to the relevant journals? I\d be surprised if they didn't.I'm English but surely US colleges have appropriate online resources and access to archived journals.Good luck with your research.

Jun 30, 2011 Go to your school's library and ask one of the librarians for assistance using their online subscription services. I knew where to find information for my courses, but I occasionally went to the library to get assistance in refining my search terms and learning tricks and tips to find the info I wanted.Librarians are a godsend for students, and I have always walked away with the impression that they loved that part of their job.

It's usually best to start there. You may have all sorts of free sources available to you -- but you won't know about them or how to use them until you investigate your school's library.
