St Joseph's College of Maine FNP program students
The program went well I did have trouble with preceptors finding them and then some backed out; the classes were great, some fabulous instructors; I went to graduation in Maine; I’m glad I found the college and after a long search I found it here on allnurses.com I would highly recommend, after graduation I studied Leak and Fitzgerald and passed the FNP certification; it’s been 5 years and I just renewed my ANCC certification; strive to be dedicated, work hard and you will cross the finish line!!

Fired By My Patients
I think smiles are important, and when nurses are under stress its not easy to smile, but it can make a huge difference, I have found...a smile conveys that the other person is important and worthy, and these are traits that many can appreciate....

Fired By My Patients
Congratulations on achieving your RN, that is a real milestone I think In reading your post it can hurt to be dismissed by a patient; one thought came to my mind and I do not know if this applies to your situation or not..."people don't care how much you know, they just want to know that you care" In my personal situations, i have found that sharing some aspects of myself seems to break the ice. I once took care of a lady and things were going rough until I showed her a picture of my cat (he was a kitten at the time) Mikey...from there it was smooth sailing Good Luck to you as i am sure you are a wonderful nurse, otherwise you would not be a nurse!!!

Failed ANCC and AANP/APEA Questions
I take the ANCc cert exam Aug 20 of course I am nervous but using affirmations such as a big screen in my mind with Affirmations that told me I can succeed I can do it I know the answers all the answers are within Also I read the Fitzgerald from cover to cover I too have to do The questions three times have already done them once so I have two more times to go also bought the Leik book and am finding that book extremely helpful I really think the Leik is a better book because it is very intensive shor, to the point but we'll see when I get to the test I will be praying very hard to pass and I will also pray for you as well good luck and God bless

St Joseph College of Maine Reviews
There are a couple hoops to jump through it seems like it's gotten a little bit tougher I enrolled in 2011 because of the costs and it was also user-friendly; recently finished my thesis and am now taking my very last clinical will be finished March 2015 I think have grown a lot from the nurse practitioner program you learn to be self reliant and do some deep digging for the courses but it is just going to assist you in providing excellent patient care as a nurse practitioner which is and was my goal

St Joseph's College of Maine FNP program students
Well got the grades about 1 week ago after calling the assistant director...am paying it for it now as on unit 3, (which I worked very hard on) was issued a C, "not enough blackboard posts"...well feel the same way just want to go off on them but staying professional....actually think the C maybe was a bit of retaliation there for me complaining, but 7 weeks is a long time....
