Hi there! Just wanted to get to know each other some more and kind of see what everyone's plans were.
Just curious to see:
Here are my answers:
Nice to meet you all!
PSU called me today and grilled me about why I chose their program and whatnot. I "should" hear by the end of the week.UPenn is definitely not going to send any notices until mid-April. And I have no idea what Pitt is doing at this point haha. This wait is killing me.
I am waiting for upenn too. What program did u applied to? I am pediatric
Hey there. Im in Charlotte too. I applied to UNCC and UNCW. UNCC is AGACNP.UNCW is FNP. No word yet from either. Director of UNCC program said in April. I can not imagine where my head would be if I had applied earlier than I did which was NOV. I also applied last year to UC online. I was not accepted due to my inability to provide a syllabus from 1995. The school didnt have it either. Hopefully answers are forthcoming. I stopped looking for out of state online programs after they started cutting so many out. Good luck to all..it sounds like none of you will need it!
Where all did you apply for NP school?
UCONN MSN
Which school is your first choice and why?
Well, I guess that would probably be UCONN! The program quality and value cannot be beat in CT. They offer some of the core classes online.
What speciality? (FNP, PMHNP, ACNP, AGNP, etc)?
ACNP
What was your GPA, GRE, and how much/what type of experience did you have?
My GPA was 3.56, with a 3.9 in sciences. Did not have to take GRE. Another reason I liked UCONN. I have about 2 years experience with most of it in critical care. I received my critical care cert (CCRN) in November of 2013.
Have you heard back from any school(s) yet?
UCONN informed me of my acceptance in February.
What semester are you looking to start?
Fall '14
Online or on campus?
On-campus, but many classes offered online.
I just found out today that I was accepted into the ACNP program at Ohio State University. I will start school in August. I work in the SICU at OSU, so it's the only school I applied to. My overall GPA is a 3.0 and the GRE wasn't required (it's the first year it hasn't been required). I also have a degree in engineering and my GPA from that degree was not great, however, my nursing GPA is around a 3.7 (associate & RN-BSN). I worked my butt off to get my cumulative GPA up to a 3.0 and I'm assuming that helped my cause. I have 2 years of experience in the SICU.
Applied to University of Texas and UPenn
Speciality FNP
GPA - 4.0 Did not have to take the GRE. I have almost 5 years experience primarily in oncology and hospice.
I was actually accepted at UPenn last year, but had to defer until this fall. But because of circumstances, I also applied to University of Texas Tyler and was accepted there as well. I will have to chose UTT.
Begins August 2014
It is a hybrid program - both online and on campus
I got accepted to Stonybrook ANP program starting this summer, ADN gpa 3.4, BSN gpa 3.8. Haven't heard from anyone else because I only applied to Stonybrook. About five years experience inCardiothoracic Step-down and Telemetry. A bit nervous though, we were told during the interview we have to find our own preceptors even though they said they will assist if we're having difficulty locating one. Orientation is the end of the month.
