I am taking my NCLEX Monday afternoon. I told myself I would stop studying tomorrow but I just cant seem to retain anything today. I did about 20 questions and stopped. I am just not into it and dont want to be burned out for the test! Also as I continue to study, I feel more panicked like I have to study everything all over or I dont know anything anymore or "opps I didnt study that let me look at it" and it is making me more overwhelmed! When did you stop studying for NCLEX RN? Would it be horrible if I stopped now?? I want to but I feel so guilty and feel like I will fail because of it for some reason... I am so afraid of failing and pray that it will just come to me as I am taking the test... any words of advise??
Thank you SO much CSULB I am praying it was enough for me to pass but I have to be honest with you this site although SO helpful was definitely what shook my confidence and scared me so much (even into possibly rescheduling my exam!) and except for this thread of course!! It really isnt as bad as most people made it out to be. I believe that with 100% of myself even if I pass or fail I would say the same. You can definitely do this its another college exam but the stakes are raised a bit

Thanks so much JLB! You've really been such a great help!
I forgot to ask you how you answered questions. Did you review Hurst content and then answered questions based on the topics you covered? Or did you just answer questions and reviewed rationale?
And also, I realized I still have access to ATI. Do you recommend answering questions from there on top of NCLEX Mastery, Kaplan, and Hurst QReview Q's?
Sorry for all the questions. Lol. I'm winding down to the last week and a half of studying before I take the NCLEX, and I want to make sure I continue to push myself and utilize the materials I have to the best of my abilities.
First off CSULB I have NO doubt in my mind that you will pass this test just by speaking with you on this forum I can tell what kind of studier you are and you GOT this in the bag!!! Second, I did both. I reviewed the hurst content with videos and workbook one full time SLOWLY (this took the longest for me, about 8days or so). Then I went through it again just the workbook portions to make sure I understood everything. Then did 3 Hurst exams which my scores we 80/124, 84/124, 92/124 (Thats all I did for hurst). In between hurst I would do 75 questions or 50 questions on Kaplan here and there form kaplan qbank. The test itself LOOKS just like Kaplan (as far as color and screen goes) but I would say its worded and structured more like ATI (I think this is a personal experience though because I have heard the opposite from others, you let me know what you think). I did 2 ATI comprehensive tests in between doing hurst that my school gave us access to. The one I did gave me the rationales right when I answered so I could really go back and see how the question was worded that led me to answering it incorrectly. (hope that makes sense). I didnt do many practice questions overall as some people have on here (definitely not thousands). The day before I tried not to study but needed to look over renal, fluid and electrolytes, cardiac, endocrine workbooks one more time (I was panicking). Oh I also didnt get to the peds video or maternal complications in hurst either. NCLEX Mastery was great simply because I could use it on the go when I was waiting in line etc. but again didnt do a TON of those just enough to get some rationales and the feel of those types of questions... I am still not 100% sure if I passed but praying this PVT is real and I did! OH and another tip, when/ if you take a break they take 15 minutes off your time even if you are gone for 5 minutes. Just be aware of that. I took one break and I was happy I did but came back 5 minutes later to see they took the whole 15...
I did 150-160 questions a day for a few weeks before my exam. I told myself that I would not study the day before the exam. I lied. I watched a movie and after, I did 150 questions but I didn't go over the rationales as hard as I did previous days. I mainly did the questions to keep my anxiety level down. I think if I did ****** on those questions, I would have panicked more but I did decent on the Kaplan questions.
If you are feeling burnt out like I was, I would take an easy day and just do some questions. I definitely wouldn't go hardcore the day before so you don't feel burnt out on the day of NCLEX.
I wish you the best of luck.
Thanks so much JLB!!! I'm 100% positive that PVT thing is accurate if you checked 24 hours after your exam. Sending you my early congrats!
And thanks so much for laying out a clear blueprint for me! I seriously appreciate you typing all of that. Haha. I went through the Hurst content pretty much at a snail's pace as well. It takes a lot longer for me to fully grasp and understand concepts so I decided to take my time with it.
Also, thanks for the heads up about the breaks and timing. That's a bit weird they would do that regardless of whether or not you use up the entire 15 minutes! Bummer!

Thanks npham82!!! The burnout is real. I'm already starting to feel it, but I gotta keep pushing for a couple more days. :)

OH MAN! That sounds scary! I've done ATI because my school made us do it and I didn't really like it. And I'm really hoping I pass!!! I'm so excited and happy for you, like you have no idea!! Congrats again! You DID IT! :)
