whats a CPNE

A clinical performance in nursing exam--Excelsior college nursing students go to a strange hospital far from their home and take care of 3 patients for an hour and a half each, with an examiner watching their every move. If the student does everything right they pass, if not they can repeat up to 2 patients--must pass 3 of 5, if not they have to do the entire thing again another week end!

I will graduate from EC on November 18th after taking the CPNE Sept 23-25.

aug 18th!!! have already enrolled at u of wyo for bsn...going back to thinking that i really do want to be a crna when i grow up...want to stay in er as long as poss and hopefully go flight nursing at some point. glad to see all the advancement that everyone is making!

since my CPNE isn't til 11/11-13, I am figuring more likely January.

So I guess I'm not on the schedule just yet!

Having the CPNE out of the way in November will make for a great holiday and then it will be January in the blink of an eye.

I completed the CPNE at the end of July and will officially graduate Sept 16 fro EC:)

Why does it take so long after finishing the CPNE to get a graduation date? Do you have to wait until after your graduation date to take the NCLEX?

Why does it take so long after finishing the CPNE to get a graduation date? Do you have to wait until after your graduation date to take the NCLEX?

It depends on the state. Some states require the school send a letter of completion which can be done prior to graduating, others want the transcript which is sent after graduation. It's really not a big deal either way, because you can begin preping for the nclex during that time and be ready to test when you get the authorization.
