When do you find time to work out?

Hey everyone. I am finishing up my intro semester of nursing school, and between full time school, part time job, homework, work asking me to come in for another shift ( im a prn), and finding time to eat or hang out with my husband...I really need to exercise, but dont know when or how to find the time?

My plan is to stop by my gym everyday after class. I live 10 minutes from campus and my gym is one street before the street my campus is on. So I figure if I'm driving by I can stop for at least 30 minutes!

I plan on going right after my last class each day. It may be for only 30 mins but I want to use that time to give my brain a break from all the info I've been trying to shove into it.

Same here, what helps is the campus gym is right across from the nursing school!

Good luck! I try to remember how much of a necessity it is for my health and that helps. That, and trying to be a good role model for my daughter is what I'm using for motivation.

We have a pretty nice gym on campus. I go at 730 am MWF and my first class those days is at 9. I am one of those people that like to spend 1 1/2 - 2 hours working out; so, only getting 45 mins will suck. I plan to spend get my 2 hrs in on Tue and TH when my class load is lighter.

I have a friend who runs 15+ miles a day. She gets up at 4am :/

Dragging my overloaded (and heavy!) bag of nursing books from the car to nursing class is about it these days.. :p

I plan to wrkout abt 15mins when i get up(so i hv 2 get up 30mins early) w/my 10 min wrkout dvd & 4 @least 30 mins(cardio or just dance 3 or michael jackson the experice on xbox or wlk arnd my neighborhood) when i get home from class before i go n2 the dungeon & study myself silly!

I don't find time, I make time. That's the key. I work part-time, have a family, and am full-time in school.

I lift (heavy lifting) for about 75-90 minutes a workout, 5 days a week. I listen to recorded lectures while I'm at the gym. Just like how I schedule study time, I also schedule my workouts. They're equally as important to me as my grades. I'm lucky, though, in that my trainer is my husband so we feed off of each others energy.

Schedule your workouts and treat them as written in stone. Find a workout partner. When you feel the results, healthier, able to come out of 12 hour shifts feeling great and with enough energy to head to the gym, it'll all have been worth it.

Treat your body like it's as much of a priority as your exam grades and it'll be easy to make time.

It feels good, trust me.

I started Insanity during the break between 1st and 2nd semesters. It was easier to stick with it when I already made a habit of it.

I do it in the mornings to get it out of the way and I know that I can take on the day!

I run for 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week without fail and I'm mindful of my calorie intake. If you want to make the time, you will.

I found that in the first 1.5 years of school, it was pretty easy for me to go to the gym at whatever time of the day I felt like it, once I was done with work and class, because my work load was (relatively) easier. But now, I definitely need to schedule specific blocks of time into my schedule for working out, just like I do for work, class, studying, etc. That makes it easier for me to think of exercising as something that needs to happen, so I don't treat it like "free time".

And sometimes if I'm in the middle of an intense studying marathon I'll make exercise part of my study breaks, like practicing belly dance moves in front of the mirror or hula hooping or taking a walk up and down the stairs of the dorm.

I start nursing school in 2 weeks and I have a schedule. I will get up an hour earlier than normal so i can go to the gym.

You make the time to exercise. You do whatever you have to, because it is your healthy:) I wake up at 5am sometimes to exercise. I do it while my son is sleeping. I walk up and down the stairs on my breaks at school. I have made it a priority to exercise 3x/wk for 1 hr, regardless of what is going on. You have to give up free time, but it is worth it.
