makes sense. a lot of people are too much in awe of doctors to stand up and fight for their rights

I work in Family Practice as a nurse and when one of my patients has more questions, or doesn't feel that they got their questions answered during the visit, I kindly go get the physician to address the issues or counsel the patient that they are in control of their health care and that they need to be involved in all aspects and be informed if they have any questions. And if they think their issue was not addressed appropriately, I tell them to ask for a clarifications as to why. They seemed pleased to know that they have options in their treatment.

That's very good. Thanks for sharing. I got a big chuckle out of the RN being the office nurse. I only see MA's and a very occasional LPN.
