When circ's go bad...

Has anyone seen a circ go really bad? I saw one today where the doc took too much foreskin off and the skin on the shaft ended up "degloving" from the fascia underneath. A urologist had to come in and do "damage control." The people I've talked with say they've never seen anything like this happen before.

One more thing....

To circumcise as a PREVENTATIVE measure... is as ridiculous of having a masectomy prophylactically when one doesn't have a hx of breast cancer in their family.

That's your opinion. When I was 18, I had lots of strong opinions...but things can change (not saying they definitely will)

Did you know that 80% of breast cancer is non-familial? If I had cancer that was found in only one breast...I would prophylactically have the other removed. I am an oncology nurse and some women do elect to have this done. When you are in that situation (of having cancer) that option is not ridiculous, but a way to prevent yourself from having to go thru the event all over again. Please be less judgmental of something you obviously have no experience with.

I am not saying that they compare one persons sexual experience to another. Did I say that? No. Sorry if I inferred it, but went back and did not believe I did so.

In my post you are referring to, I was responding to your quote here:

"Males with intact foreskin report a much higher level of sexual pleasure."

You did not say if they had been circumcised at adulthood. What I meant by my response to you was: How can a male with an intact foreskin even know how sexual pleasure without a foreskin feels like?

It's not a comparative statement; it's an absolute statement about how high each group self reports their levels of sexual pleasure.

When people make the arguement that it is not fair to circumcise a baby because they cannot give consent....what about parents who elect to have a child's ears surgically pinned back??? Isn't that not fair as well?

It would be if parents decided to have their kids ears pinned back just because they happen to have a set of ears that might grow to stick out in the future and cause them to be bullied.

Personally I think circumcition = child abuse.

I think that it is a very strong statement saying that I abused my child because I chose to have him circumcised. And that is exactly what you are saying.

Each group was NOT included...she only mentioned the uncut.

Good thing you highlighted "personally". It's not child abuse or it would be ILLEGAL!

According to your profile...you live in Finland. I am sure that our cultures think about circumcisions in different ways. My son is circumcised and all my future ones will be too. As a woman...an uncircumcised member disgusts me. No offense to anyone! Have you ever perform peri care on one of these patients who neglect to clean it themselves!!!!! YUCK! WAY worse than circed!!

Isn't saying an uncircumcised member disgusts you very similar to what the previous poster said that in his/her OPINION circumcision is child abuse?

I don't understand women who say it is disgusting. I guess it's all about what you are used to. I never saw the uncircumcised variety till I met my husband but I wasn't disgusted I was interested as to the differences/how it worked, etc. All males are born with foreskins. If they are not, it is considered a birth defect (aposthia).

As for your comment about peri care, well I've seen a lot of disgusting things in the hospital that don't really have any relevance to my life and I guess this is one of them. I've been with my husband nine years now and I've never seen any big differences in hygiene and believe me, he does nothing special to it, just showers once a day.

Yes, they are both opinions.

I understand both views as being a personal preference. Granted, memberes are not the prettiest things to look at, but I like them circ'ed. Just my personal preference.

I have been with one uncirced man. He was very neat and clean in appearance...except for one thing! I think that may have further shaped my view on it mostly. I have definitely seen way worse things than the peri care of an uncirced man LOL! I work in oncology, so we see stuff nightmares are made of.

I think we all have our opinions. I personally think a circed member is disgusting. Always staring at you. :rotfl: But my husband is circed and I love him anyway. And our sex life is okay. Of course, every man is convinced that he would be bigger if he was (or wasn't) circed. My boys aren't, a decision which was strongly influenced by my years in Europe. Appearances become less important when you love someone and everyone has different likes. Do I agree with RIC -- No. Is it my business if you circ your sons -- again no. As long as I don't have to assist it isn't my business. It may bother me that RIC is legal and supported by insurance in this country but as long as it is to each his own.

Oh wonderful another way for men to enjoy sex more. Don't they enjoy it too much as it is????:rotfl:
