Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
I have a pediatric patient named Mpanda, another named Batuli..
Hi guys I'm new here but I think I have a couple of winners for you in the weird baby name discussion are you ready? In high school I knew of a girl name Aphrodite, her sister Isis and Brother Buffalo Zeus! all greek gods. I also knew of a family last name Beaver the 2 youngest were Pacer and Cricket. I also have heard the Placenta story and the Female story before.
I was told by a nurse I knew that one of her patients had eaten lemon jello and orange jello after delivering twin boys. She named the boys Le'monjelo and Le'ranjelo.
I went to college with a guy names Angus Rocket.
There is a OBGYN in Nothern VA named Harold Beaver (I looked it up, it's true!)
My sister went to school with Candice Clapp.
I once worked with a guy named Tim Toomer, and another named Tom Timko.
Also worked with a Suet Man... who is a woman (she's Cambodian)
Oh geez, can't believe I forgot these: when I was alittle kid, the kids naext door were named Dickey and Peter Cummings. The funny thing is it never hot me until I was in college and mentioned it to my boyfriend and another friend. They howled and rolled around laughing while I said "What? what???"
I took care of a man named George Washington and when I went to give report, the nurse on the other line said, "roosevelt here." Then I said, "roosevelt, here cometh George Washington." And it was very close to president's day...
I recently met Hawaii Vegas.
I work in the ER and I promise the baby's first name was Coe last name Kane. Coe Kane, how sad is that.
What are some people thinking??? Anyway..I have to say the "oddest" named child I've actually cared for was Tequilla Rose.
