Yeah, just like hiring managers don't read resumes before calling applicants..My resume self-intro clearly state: newly graduated RN yet I get calls about positions that clearly require experience only to be told yeah you need some experience before you can get this job....I know that, can't you read my resume first before calling me? But hey whatever:)
Slightly off-subject, but I used to become annoyed when I was a floor nurse in LTC working the 3 to 11pm shift and would have to answer phone calls from interested job seekers after an employment ad ran in the newspaper earlier that day.
All of these people were calling after 8:00pm, during my last medication pass of the night. Common sense should have dictated to some of these job seekers that the people who do the hiring probably will not be in the building to answer their questions at that time of night.

I used to get same calls on early Sunday mornings (right after the Sunday newspaper hit the stands). Like don't you think the top honchos have off on weekend Sundays?!?

Oh, that brings back memories.....the 8:00pm calls on a Sunday night, with someone saying " Y'all hirin' ? " or " I put in an application on Friday and NO ONE HAS CALLED ME YET ".

As some of you know, I have been trying to hire some nurses. The ads I am running are very clear: RN suoervisor-experience preferred AND RNs/LPNs full and part time.
So far I've gotten 5 responses from people who aren't nurses! One woman was a manager in a restaurant. One said she was fluent in Russian---it was apparent she was NOT fluent in English.
Do people not read the ads before they reply?
