Hey guys! I want to know what the one thing you can't live without in your clinical bag is? I am starting to make purchases and get things together and wanted some seasoned input.

Check with your program we were prohibited from carrying clipboards just a pocket notebook, scissors, pens (black ink only) stethoscope, penlight. Long story about the clipboards but the ban carried through to subsequent classes.

Small sticky notes -- I have my "brain" that I carry around on the floor but every now and then I need to write myself a reminder (ex: draw PTT at 2215) but I don't want it on my actual brain. I can throw the sticky note out after I'm done with it, and since the sticky notes are different colors than my brain, it draws my attention to it.

WATER! Don't forget to stay hydrated during your clinical shift. There's always time to take a few gulps each hour. I bring a 1-liter Nalgene water bottle with me pretty much everywhere to make sure I'm getting enough water. Take care of yourself during clinical!

Folding clipboard with extra blank paper. Extra pens. The clipboard is covered in notes for things like electrolyte imbalances.

Binder, steth, watch, name badge, penlight, mints, lunch money, tylenol/advil, black pen, whiteboard pen, pencil. I put it all in a little box so that I don't forget anything important.

ooh, I like the whiteboard pen idea! It seems the open study rooms always have whiteboards...and pens out of ink. grrr. I may do that! Thanks!
