Each embassy has their own timeframe, depending on what you applied for, you find it on the cic site.

Look for posts by Breech, they will give you an idea on time frame but a lot will depend on what you have applied for
this should help http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/visas/processing_times-delais_traitement.aspx?lang=eng
thanks to your replies... have checked the site... its very informative. I am referring to application as a skilled worker... thanks again
And it tells you the rough time frame for a skilled worker
Which visa have you applied for or which route are you applying for? PNP TWP PR

Sorry, but I dont get what is PNP ? TWP - temporary work permit? PR - permanent resident?
PNP is provincial nominee program
ah ok... I am referring to application as PR...thanks
You may find it quicker to go the TWP route and adjust to PR once in Canada. According to the link PR skilled worker is looking at 48 months after acknowledgement of application

You can apply for TWP while still allowing your PR to go on too - one of the nurses on my unit did that, wish I'd have thought of it!
She applied for PR in 2007 in the UK then, realising how long that was going to take, she applied for TWP - she started working August '08 via the TWP & then got her PR finalised this year.
Even the route you have taken RGN1 shouldn't take you too long to get PR
