In one year, i will have to face this. I just want to get myself ready. Can anyone tell me what can the main bread winner do for work (mainly on weekends) and still be able to go to school? What do you do?
Thanks in advance!

Any hospital job will expose you to the hospital routines, terminology, and staff interaction. Unit secretary or CNA/PCT are the best. Personally, I think the unit secretary position is the most useful as prep for nursing SCHOOL. US gives you lots of exposure to medical terminology, diagnosis and medication names, the types of orders you would expect for specific conditions, etc. If, however, you are uncomfortable with dealing directly with patients, CNA might be the best fit for you, as it will force you to learn to deal with the human side.
Best of luck.

You can go PRN at any facility - most hospitals like hiring nursing students. Try to apply at a place where you think you might like working in the long term - getting a foot in the door will make you stand out once graduation comes and you're fighting for new grad positions.
That's my plan
