I wear the hospital scrubs. Technically, we're not supposed to wear them outside the hospital, but everyone does.
In L&D, we're required to wear the hospital scrubs. For mother/baby, we can wear our "own" scrubs (I put that in quotes because it's still a dress code - royal blue with blue or black pants).
I was hired on at a hospital that has L&D and Mom/Baby on the same floor. The director told me that I could possibly have both types of patients at the same time. I was told the dress code was any kind of scrubs. I haven't started yet, so I don't know if they change clothes or not. I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. I start work in a few weeks. :)
Hopital scrubs. But we are allowed to carry in and change into our personal scrubs if we need to. Some of the nurses are very sensitive to the detergents from the hospital scrubs and as long as we don't wear them in/out we can wear our own. Almost everyone wears the hospital ones though...icky green ones.
I wear my street clothes to work and change into the scrub attire that they provide for us in the locker room. I think that people should not wear scrubs outside of work, it is very unsanitary. I sometimes see that women wear their scrubs at the grocery store or even the mall! Ick! If they are trying to show a sense of pride, wear your college alumni sweatshirt! Other than that, leave the scrubs for the patients in the hospital to see!

Just curious, do you wear hospital or personal scrubs to work?
