G shock! Very affordable on amazon. Digital, shows seconds. Keeps military time. Attractive but understated. I love gshock! I have a white baby G.
My first watch I used through Cna and Lvn school was also nice although it was much less expensive. It was not digital, but it had military time numbers listed on the face below the regular hours. It was plastic/ rubber and easier to sanitize than the g shock because it had less crevices.

I just got a Timex digital wristwatch, & it has served me well in the ICU. Features I would recommend looking for include:
1) displays seconds (for counting RR or HR)
2) displays date (for quicker charting if you tend to forget the date like I do)
3) displays military time (self-explanatory)
Here's a link to my watch on Amazon: Amazon.com: Timex Women's T5K460 1440 Sports Blue Resin Digital Watch: Timex: Clothing
No digital! Ever.
3 hands always.
I have had quite a few..from Timex with the glow to Tinkerbell..to some flashy water resistant ones from sears during their Christmas sales :)
School likely wants you to have anything but a digital watch. Check walmart too..they alwyas have the funky colors and clearance for something a bit out of the ordinary.

Nursing student here! Just wondering what those of you with more clinical experience prefer for your watch. Wrist watch? Lapel watch? Military time on it? Glow in the dark? Etc... And since scrubs aren't always the most stylish things in the world, are there any sites for practical watches you use to add a little flare and style? Thanks for the input guys :)
