We will be having a new student orientation soon at my college. During the process, we have drawings. We always give away a textbook or study aid, but what would be something you would want to get for free?
We have had suggestions such as highlighters, post-its, index cards, and notebooks. Someone suggested a computer, but our budget is NOT that big.
Do any of you have suggestions of items you would like to receive?
Thanks for your input!:heartbeat
At orientation the nursing student association did a raffle as a fund raiser. They raffled off a huge number of books from texts, reference books, pocket guides, test review books, publisher review copies, 2 jackets required for the program, a couple of tote bags, and some DVDs that can be used as reference material. It was a huge hit, tickets were $1/ea or 10/$5. It seemed like 3 or 4 students won 7-8 books each. I got a test review book and a pocket guide for clinicals.
i donated a pair of brand new scrubs to my orientees this fall bc they were too big for me. ($60+ worth!)
so scrubs, textbooks ill need, school supplies, iclicker thing, hoodie (class gets cold and boring ya know) starbucks gc is a good idea, so is the gas card
most important: beer. if u cant do that, red bull LOL

Truth be told, I would have loved to get a book on stress management techniques, or something along those lines. I knew NS was going to require lots of study time and mental investment but I had no idea how emotionally taxing it was going to be. So that's what I would want.
