What would you want?

We will be having a new student orientation :nurse: soon at my college. During the process, we have drawings. We always give away a textbook or study aid, but what would be something you would want to get for free?

We have had suggestions such as highlighters, post-its, index cards, and notebooks. Someone suggested a computer, but our budget is NOT that big.

Do any of you have suggestions of items you would like to receive?

Thanks for your input!:heartbeat

I want a LM stethoscope for christmas :) or before with my name carved into the drum piece :D and a little christmas sock with a lots of candies (kit-kats, hersheys, jolly ranchers, ...etc.) and my stethoscope in it! lol

my school did something like that.. they gave out shirts with the school logo on it, some tote bags with school logo, candy, vouchers to the cafeteria..

I would like drug books, nclex study guides, care plan books...how nice!

Starbucks gift certificates

Drug flash cards, RNotes etc...

Get them a gift certificate for a massage. It will come in handy when they start the semester!

Thanks everyone for your good ideas. I like the massage certificate...for myself! :D

No, I don't think I will give any students any phone numbers for other students no matter how cute.;)

starbucks gift cars, study guides like the success series, nursing/school t-shirts, bandage scissors which are inexpensive, or a text book would great! Also could you call my school and tell them to do this!

Grocery store, gas station, or Wal-Mart gift certificate would be useful to a student who is self-supporting.

Anything for use in clinical. Scrubs, stetho, shears, penlights etc

We always have a raffle at orientation and they usuall have a steh, BP cuff, scissors, penlights, pens, uniform patches, GC for starbucks, school logo cups, GC for uniform stores, lanyards, all kinds of fun stuff!

Truth be told, I would have loved to get a book on stress management techniques, or something along those lines. I knew NS was going to require lots of study time and mental investment but I had no idea how emotionally taxing it was going to be. So that's what I would want.
