Okay so May 14 I had an interview with a surgical progressive care unit.
May 23 he had me shadow the unit.. And wanted me to let him know when I take the nclex and pass.
June 6th found out I passed and emailed him.
June 7th haven't heard back from him..
My question is do I continually keep waiting? What is your gut feeling on this? Is this just a blow off saying let me know when u pass?
Should I start looking elsewhere ?
Thanks!

I say always keep your options open until you have an offer letter sitting in front of you, ready to be signed. Keep him in mind and maybe send a thank you card expressing your gratitude for the shadowing experience and the update on passing boards.. But, still apply and get other interviews..in this economy..you just never know.. Good luck..and remember, it is always better to have more than 1 offer.

Can you call? Maybe he is on vacation or out of his office.. But I wouldnt limit yourself to this one position either. Never hurts to have your name out there.
I wanted to add too that I had my job lined up after graduation and emailed my nurse manager after passing boards and it was a full month before I actually started with interview, HR, etc. Managers are super busy, so I would email again or call his office.
Yeah I am hoping that he is busy but i also didn't want to hold on to him saying that he wanted to know when I passed the nclex, if that's just what he says to everyone hah. And I might call, I just didn't know if that was too bothersome or annoying to call after I had already emailed once and if it would hinder my chances on getting the job. Either way I would love for him to either give a definite no or yes, that way I can stop wondering:)

In my "former life" prior to becoming a student I interviewed loads of people and here's what I noticed:
1) While the interviewee is focusing all of their attention on getting that position, the interviewer still has a load of other work to do and probably just hasn't been able to get back to you.
2) Since it has only been one day since you e-mailed him, I would wait a few days. He probably is really busy and it is probably on his stack of to do's or could even be off for a few days.
3) I personally would send a card or call to let him know that you passed (hurray for you!!!!) and would love to hear from him about the position you interviewed for. If possible, use verbage he used when he told you to contact him and perhaps remind him (without being super obvious) about what you talked about during the interview so he it will pique his memory. I always looked at it as showing great initiative and interest in the job.
Congrats on passing and even if this position doesn't come to fruition look at it as great practice for interviewing/shadowing.

Congratulations on passing NCLEX.
Filling that open position is just one of that manager's responsibilities; in fact, it is tacked on to more normal, day-to-day stuff. He also likely has to coordinate the selection of a candidate with others -- HR, his boss, etc.
Patience. But you should expand your job search beyond this one opening, even if it is your first choice.

June 6th initial email
June 7th- next business day you haven't heard anything.
You need to be patient, HR doesn't work as quickly as you would like. They're possibly gathering information about the position, orientation, hours needed, benefits package, pay scale...
Do not place all of your eggs in this one basket. But, don't expect to be hired within a day, which is basically what you are doing now. Be patient!

Haha touché.....i just didn't know if anyone was thrown the phrase "let me know when you test and pass" just to get them out of their hair. :)
Got the job! :)

Congrats on getting the job!!! I am about to be interviewed on PCU. what type of questions were you asked during your interview?? Should I review any specific material??
woops this is a really late response, i just saw this. If you still want examples of what was asked during my interview let me know!
