What do you use to transport your books?

I bought a rolling briefcase type of thing to bring my books back and forth to class. I did this mainly becasue I have 3 of my 4 classes on the same days (plus a lab) and there are 6 books I wil have to transport most days. I am 34 and did not want a back pack because it would be very heavy for my back. My 16 year old son says they are going to make fun of me for having a rolling briefcase. Will they? Not that it matters (I told him I am going to learn, not make friends) but I was just wondering if I will stick out.

I suffer from migranes and the stress from carrying a heavy bookbag causes me to have a migrane so I don't care who laughs I will be carrying a rolling bookbag this semester I have about 13 books I know that I won't take them all at once but I will have other things and I want to try to make my life as stress free as possible

My husband and kids bought me a backpack on wheels. There are a lot of kids that are in the neighborhood that carry their stuff in a backpack with wheels. But after going to school for awhile I used it more in clinicals to keep my med book, all my medical equipment, and my reference books. I hid it under the breakroom table. I found in class I could get away with just taking a notebook or two. I had a dresser full of books though, that got transferred all over the place. They are not very portable. But I would have a book in the car on weekends to read assignments when waiting for soccer games to start, or during soccer practice, or waiting to pick the kids up from school. Unfortunately my backpack broke, I was always tripping over some part of it.

I went through my entire LVN program without bringing books to class. I had them in my car just in case but it never came up. We were expected to read at home. I brought my notebook and threw a couple pens in my purse but I'm a minimalist by nature.

I doubt that anyone will actually make fun of you, since they'll all be in the same boat. Personally I like a backpack because I'm used to them--wearing a 40 lb pack is normal in fighting wildland fire, which I've done for the past 4 summers. I also like hiking, so a backpack is kind of second nature.

If they do give you a hard time, just come back with something apropos.

I'm a kidder, and I enjoy being kidded back. All in fun, and I would shut up if I thought I really offended or made you uncomfortable.
