What topics do nursing students struggle the most with? For example, most of my students struggle with learning meds and integrating their application to patient care. I am curious if this is unique to our program or students in general. Please don't limit your responses to just meds... Really looking for what students seem to be worrying about or having difficulty grasping. Thanks in advance!

When I went to nursing school I almost failed OB and peds. Apparently this is common for male nurses.

Fluid & Electrolytes! It's so important to learn them because they are the basis for everything but I know myself and many of my friends find that this is our weakest subject.

I learned it in both fundamentals and pharmacology this semester and I still struggled with acidosis/alkalosis when it came down to finals. Analyzing blood gasses and differing between the symptoms of metabolic acidosis/alkalosis and respiratory acidosis/alkalosis, etc.

I've only taken Pharmacology and Fundamentals/Foundations and I second mks2012-fluids and electrolytes were hard! It's interesting, but hard.

I was awful with liver. Those enzymes and stuff always tripped me up, and it took me forever to get hepatorenal syndrome, though I'm a pro at managing esophageal varices!
