Hello ,

I'm a foreign nurse,I failed my N'CLEX- RN exam in August.Obviously,I have to review my knowledges and practice tests again because my score was in majority near the passing standard.I would like to know if my reviews are correct and effective:i practiced around 4000 questions in Lippincutt and Saunders book.I also reviewed my courses in Saunders comprehensive review for NCLEX-RN,so my question is:Do you think that I am on a good way to success my exam if i continue in this way or should I review other courses in other books.Do you think, you,American RN that the courses in this kind of review books are enough to success for this type of exam?Thank you very much to answer me.It would be very helpful.

I bought the Saunders CD-ROM review and there are so many questions I thought I would die! You can also divide up the questions into different categories which I really liked so I could work on areas I was weak in. Kaplan is a great program, I did the online course and I loved it! When I took the NCLEX I felt like I was taking a practice Kaplan that is how good it was. Kaplan is designed in such a way that you have to be strong in your content in order to make it work for you. When you take NCLEX, they are assuming you already know all your content, so they are not going to ask you content based questions and allow you to pass. I think the combination of the Saunders to brush up on content and the Kaplan to get down the strategy is the best thing.

Hi Joun

I too failed NCLEX the 1st time..... after taking Kaplan (good thing for the money back policy:D

Well I passed the 2nd time, only got 75 questions ! I reviewed Saunders and Lippencott.... did questions everyday , as many as possible !

Also I found that taking as many practice tests on CD Rom as possible also helped.

By the time I went in there I was so used the computerized format and the types of questions that I breezed through it in about 1 hour.

Best of luck and remember....

practice, practice, practice:p
