What TEAS score did you get & did you get accepted in the nursing program?

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

I took the TEAS exam this morning and got an adjusted individual score of 89.4% overall. I got a 97.5 on reading, 97.8 on math, 83.3 on science, and 83.6 on the English.

I currently have a GPA of 4.0 and I am taking the 3 prereqs for the nursing program now..which are English Comp I, General Psychology, and A&P I.

I have to attend a health information session tomorrow after which I can apply for the internal transfer into the (ADN) Nursing program out of health sciences-general studies.

I am super nervous about the whole process and really hope it all goes well. I am just wondering what scores everyone got on their TEAS and if you got accepted or not into your program.

Thanks!!

I took my TEAS exam last year without any preparation what-so-ever. I got an 83, which I thought was a little low on the competitive side. However, I was told by the school I got accepted into that I did very well on the TEAS. I think it just depends on the school and what they accept. I would say anything above mid-80s is great. Above 90s, even better.

However, I've noticed there are others on here who haven't gotten as high of a score so I hope this doesn't discourage those who have made below-average scores.

Congrats to the OP! I am jealous! :p

I got overall 80%, reading 90%, math 80%, science 70% and english 78%. Mean 74, national mean74%,

I'll know the end of this month if i get in or not:confused::uhoh3:

91.3%, and I'm still waiting to hear, but my hopes have been raised by the "99th percentile" aspect. I was expecting to fail! That test scared the crap out of me.

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 86.5%

Good? Bad? I think I will retake it before applying...

91.2% worked for me.. I got my acceptance letter yesterday! :D

I would be happy with anything above 80% on the TEAS.

I got 85% overall, and got in nursing school to begin this fall :)

My individual score was 92.0 (99th percentile) and I just found out I was accepted into the BSN program for the Fall 2010!

80%.TEAS..3.5 gpa

start NS spring 11'

Keep in mind that the score all depends on the version of the TEAS that was taken. The newest TEAS V is a much harder test and has an overall average score that is 8-10 points lower than the older 3 and 4 Teas versions. This is relatively new information as most schools are still using the version 3&4. My school started using the version 5 in January and said that categorically across the country as well as within our program, average scores are lower. I have a 3.7GPA, a BS in Psych, and studied the TEAS 5 study guide from ATI and got an 80% overall. I spoke with my nursing counselor yesterday to see where I stood and she said that at my school 63 people had taken it and of those 63, only 12 had scored above 80%. Average scores were 65-75%.

My school uses a points method for nursing school entry. They assign points for A,B,or C in each pre req class then add your total TEAS % to come up with a number, this number is used to rank you and the top 50-53 get in. Usually 200-250 apply for fall entry and less for spring. My counselor thinks I have a strong app and will get in but I am considering retaking the TEAS to score higher. The science is TOUGH...

Anyway, sorry to write a book...I'll let you know in June if I got in...

Mom2three3;

Your statement about the TEAS V being more difficult than previous versions was the second time I've seen that written. Did you get that from school administrators or word of mouth? I'm just wondering because as I read through posts I'm always a little confused about where people stand based on their comments, reported GPA's and TEAS scores. I'm hoping what you've heard is true!

I took the TEAS V a couple of weeks ago and scored a 85.3. The score report indicated I was in the 98th percentile in both the program and the national ranking. I do know of a couple of people in my program who scored 90-91 and were in the 99h percentile. Everyone else I've spoken to so far scored either where I did or lower. I'd love to get a better sense of where people are scoring on OUR version of the exam.

Thanks for your input!

We have a post testing counseling session where they go over your score with you. That was when they told us that ATI had informed them that the version 5 was a little more difficult and to expect lower average scores. My school then conferenced with other schools in my area and the general experience thus far was that the scores are 8-10 points lower. I was in the first group to take the version 5 at my school and have been checking back periodically to see how the scores look. As expected, they are about 10 points lower than last years. My school knows this and it taking it into account for admissions. They are ONLY accepting Teas 5 scores and no other version to make it fair.

I am worried only having made an 80%... I am registered to retake in April but might not since average scores are 65-75% in my program. Let me know if I can help in any way...

I took version V yesterday and thought I was well prepared. And that turned out to be crap!! I ended up getting a 68% Individual Total Score. I was suprised because I went in there with a 4.0 plus I have been going over the book since December. The book I studied though was 3.0 because that was the book that they had for us at the book store. Anyways I did well in Reading and Math but I struggled in Science and English (like sentence structures). I am going to talk to my nurse advisor but I think that everyone around me was pretty much average with me. There was alot of chemistry and physics on my test which I did not really study for. My school said they know that we have not taken those courses so they focus more on math and reading. Well I hope that is true for my score.

It ended up being a crappy day anyways I had to switch to 3 computers because they were not working and then the girl next to me was on pain medicine for surgery she had a couple days ago and she had to have a garbage bag next to her to throwup. It was hard to concentrate when she would get sick plus the smell got to me.
