What??

If summer does not arrive soon, I will be losing my sanity! :crying2::crying2:

I had a math coach come to me this morning because a nurse at one of his other schools had sent a kid back to class with pink eye and he was upset. I told him that if the nurse felt the kid was ok that he was probably ok - not every instance of irritated eye is flaming conjunctivitis. He still argued and I told him that if he felt he had better knowledge and training that he should apply for the school nurse position at that particular school! :chuckle

Then. I had a student come down and he had no clue why he was being sent to the nurse. No complaints whatsoever! So, I sent him back stating I did not know why he was sent. I was thinking he was probably just getting on the teacher's nerves. Teacher came down later and told me she had sent him because she "THINKS" that he farted ONCE! Ok.......well, we all do that from time to time!:banghead:

Then, there was the kid who had hit his head on a wall corner. He had a small laceration near his eyebrow with minimal bleeding, alert and oriented, laughing, etc. The TA that walked him down and had me paged as a "serious medical emergency" already was dialing 911 from her cell phone. NO! NO! 911 is not necesary and if the kid is walking and talking and laughing - it is a pretty good indication that it is not a serious emergency!!!!!!:no: I was giving a presentation to my 6th graders about new immunization requirements for next year when my radio went wild!!

This on top of all of the other Monday morning madness!!!

AGGGHGGGGHHHHHHHGGGGHGGHHHHGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

You are a better nurse than I, SchoolNurseBSN! If I had all three of those things happen to me in the same day, I WOULD have lost it!!!!!

I don't know if any of you are country music fans, but there is a new song out (don't know who sings it) that has been running through my head lately...the refrain says:

God is great,

Beer is good,

And people are crazy!

I don't drink beer, so with a minor adjustment to the second line, this has been my mantra!

What a day you had SchoolnurseBSN, thankfully you did not lose your sanity. I've had days like that before. When the teacher sent a kid in for farting I almost lost it ! I told her I'd be more worried or concerned if he wasn't farting... atleast we know his digestive system is working right. :p

Look on the bright side-we get summers:yeah:How many years did we get no summers, no holidays, no life...Yeah it's hectic this time of year, but it's still the best job I ever had!

schoolnurse bsn, i totally know how you feel ! if you can, just tie a knot in the end of your rope and hang on ! :yeah: we all love and support you here on this school nurses forum ! have a better day :D
