So, you either have to take A&P II and Micro together or A&PII and biochem together or you die in a fire. Which do you pick? You're also taking an online writing course and a abnormal psych class. You have a 3.8 gpa. GO!

I didn't have to take biochem, only needed gen chem. Micro was rough at my school. Do some digging and take easiest of the 2 with A&P2. (Maybe. Keep reading though.)
Really need more info though. The 1 you don't take, does that mean you have to take it in the summer? I'm assuming you will do the 2 starting this January so does that mean the one you don't take will be done next summer or will it wait til next Fall?
Do you have other classes? Do you work?
If your schedule is light, then I'd say take the roughest 1 along with A&P so you have a 16 week semester instead of an 8 week summer.
If schedule tight, then take easiest 1.
Need a lot more info to develop best strategy.

Die in a fire?
But, seriously... If your A&P II is heavy on the physiology I would think biochem would lend itself nicely to things like the gas exchange, electrolyte imbalances, etc. portions of A&P. I would probably take those two together if made to choose.

I would do APII and Micro... I did API and Micro and survived! lol

Adrnstudent, The one I don't take then will indeed be taken over the summer (in an 8 week course) and the two I will be taking together would be taken the following fall. I plan to apply to the spring 2014 nursing class for my BSN and whatever classes I'm taking in fall will have to be completed with a B or better if I get a provisional admit. I am a successful student, a great studier and luckily my schedule is, in fact, quite light. I work on saturdays only. I need insight as to which two classes would compliment each other best. As for other courses, yes, I will be also taking an online writing for professionals course and an abnormal psych class (3 previous english classes 4.0 gpa in english and 3 previous psych classes 4.0 gpa in this subject as well, so not worried about the time they'll take from these.)
Halcyonn, I chose "die in a fire" because if I hadn't I would have received replies that said "Don't take two lab courses together" which unfortunately isn't an option. Thank-you for your input, I appreciate it!

A&P II and biochem.
I did not take biochem but a chemistry course that included general, biological, and organic chemistry all in one. In the same semester I also took A&P II, and they complimented each other very well. Some things like gas exchange were covered in both, and it really helped me get the information.
Two labs are hard, but not impossible. I'm sure you'll do great! I made As in both.

I would pair it with biochem. I really don't recommend any sort of anatomy or physiology w/ micro. Yes I know people have done it but I would rather postpone applying for a semester just so I would not have to take them together. Biochem sounds more doable. Good luck!

Micro after you have completed A&P II will make more sense. Most of the students doing well in my current micro class have already completed A&P II.

The biochem class, now that I'm looking at the description, in Organic, Inorganic and Biochemistry. Any thoughts on that class, material it covered, difficulty? Usually my college offer about 20 sections of the basic chem classes, however every semester they only offer one of this class so I haven't found anyone to give feedback on this!

What nursing program requires Biochem? Thought that was strictly a med school prereq. o.O
Abnormal Psych is pretty easy, I took that in the summer with 3 other classes and pulled an A without too much trouble. I would take your more intensive classes now, as they will be hell if you leave them to the summer term.

A&P II and Micro. I didn't take them together cause I was scared lol, and decided to take A&P with a bunch of other gen ed classes. Then when I took Micro the following semester I noticed I could have taken them together without complications. But it also depends on the instructors, and I don't mean you should choose the easiest ones because that way you probably won't learn that much, but the ones that are passionate about the subject and are willing to teach you properly but still being fair with tests and stuff.
University of Maryland's School of Nursing gave me a list of classes I have to take at my specific school I'm attending now and they listed "Intro to Biochemistry" as my pre req for chemistry.
