I'll leave someone better qualified than me to answer that. Suffice to say that there are a few of us here who are in a bit of a black hole.......known as 'Retrogression'

If you are a Canadian citizen you can still come to the US to work on a TN visa during retrogression. Retrogression means no green cards for a while. And no applications to be accepted at this time. This is due to a greater demand for green cards than the supply available as there is a limit per year of how many can be issued. You can only apply for a green card once the category is current and they don't expect that to happen for a while. Before you can work in the US though you have to have a Visascreen completed in order to get a work visa (TN Visa). The other requirement of course is a letter from an employer with a job offer and as you know passing NCLEX. Good luck.
Thank you for your response! You've given me lots of info which I obviously had NO clue about prior to this posting. Thanks again!

Thanks. I've always wondered what that meant. No green cards.

How long is a piece of string?
Retrogression has occurred a couple of times since I initially started the process for the US way back in 2004 but initially just involved the PIC (Philippine, China and India) countries although in Oct 06 retrogression affected all countries and has been ongoing since then. As long as the demand outweighs the allocation there will always be a retrogression
